Sightseeing

Used by the director Pasolini for shooting the movie Salò. Today it maintains still a secret charm, and you can have a yearning sight on the city. You can also see this villa from the town, along Marconi street. Was build by one minister of Napoleone, the lawyer Aldini. The emperor was fallen in love in the sight on the city. The project was abandoned in 1815, when Napoleone was forced to the exile after the defeat of Waterloo.

You can reach it with the tourist little train starting from Piazza Maggiore, or (by foot) from Porta Saragozza: here part the longest portico of the world (666 arches!); it is exciting to cross it, you will be to the shelter both from the bad weather that from the scorching sun. It is place of concentration of many bolognesis, it has a base oval architecture. The first church was built in the eleventh century.

The towers in Bologna, of medieval origin, are structures with function both military and noble. Among the XII and the XIII century the number of the towers was next to 100. Now there's only 17. Only the tallest, Asinelli, and Prendiparte (or Coronata) can be visited. To climb on the tower Asinelli you should climb 498 stairs and you must not suffer from claustrophobia! ;)

Beautiful place! From out they seem so many churches one close to the other; but it is only entering inside the first and greater one that a real trip is begun in the time, that crosses to bashful the tappes of the formation of the Seven churches, an unitary complex of so many buildings of cult juxtaposed during the centuries. Enter and contemplate the magnificence of the mosaic faces, the simplicity of the church of the saints Vitale and Agricola, the little museum (free entry) and the cloister.

amazing and magnificent complex of statues in terracotta of the XV century, masterpiece of the sculptor Nicolò Dell'Arca, representing the lamentation over the Christ. Unbelievable the expressions of the faces and the sense of movement that make the scene true and real

Food Scene

This little restaurant is 10 minutes from my home, and is also a shop where they sell home made pasta, with some little tables where you can eat there, everything very simple with flat, glasses and silver wares it uses and it throws. Good idea. Tortellini, lasagne, tortelloni, noodles with white meat sauce of sausage as many good and not at all heavy, good sweets. Super nice and kind owners.

Tucked away near the city centre and at 15 min from home, this restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, simply and tastefully furnished and beautifully presented. Busy but not noisy. Very friendly owners gave excellent service. Make reservations since it's a small place but the food is excellent and the service is top notch. Passatelli, lasagne and tortellini ;)

92 years old woman who prepare daily fresh pasta for you...only this could be enough to convince you to come in this restaurant. Furnishings still as 50 years ago! Whether to say, if not that the noodles, the tortelloni, the rare that cannot be found 'strichetti' to the nettles, a sumptuous bolognese cutlet! nice and fast service, prices very reasonable.

I can accompany you in this little paradise on the first hill of Bologna, where a young Emilian couple has its own wine production in the area. The technique of wine production will be illustrated. You can enjoy a spectacular view of the terrace where you can sample the wines produced by the company, white '270', or the red Controluce, a cabernet sauvignon full of scents and persistent on the palate. The wines are accompanied by appetizers.
