Food Scene
There are so many restaurants near our place, but here are a few of our favorites.
Manatee Island is about 7 minutes away. It’s a cool place to hang out, especially for happy hour (3 to 6 PM) with cold drinks and an assortment of half price appetizers. They have live music many afternoons and evenings. They built a new massive Tiki Bar in 2022, which is a fun place to go, even during thunderstorms! This place sits along the Manatee Pocket, so very nautical. Interesting signs.

There is also one on Indian street, but we like this one better. It has a Tiki bar outside. Great food and cold beers. Service is always great. We eat here often. Great burgers, wings, tacos, fish sandwiches, etc.

We love to sit out front under the covered patio of Stuart's "Best Sports Bar". If you join their MVP club (free), you get two-for-one drinks all day. Excellent food and drinks here. A very nice little New Orleans style restaurant on Jensen Beach's main street. Great food. We like to sit in their courtyard on dry days.

Nice little place on Jensen Beach's main street. Great food and a nice atmosphere especially out on their patio. They have early bird dinners and $5 Martini specials during Happy Hour.

We like to sit out in the covered bar area adjacent to the fishing fleet and have drinks and lunch. They often have live music in the evenings.

Sit outside if available. The view toward the Roosevelt Bridge along the Riverwalk is fantastic at night. Very good food. It is on the pricey side though.

Very good Italian food with large portions. Nice bar. Great service. Best pizza in town (local secret). Great specials. Wide menu selection. We love this place as it’s a four minute drive from our place.

One of the best Italian restaurants in southwest Stuart. It’s small, so call for a reservation. Great seafood dishes.

This could also go under "nightlife" since they have live music and dancing outside on Friday and Saturday nights. We especially love to come here during happy hour to watch the sunset. It is at a marina with many very expensive yachts, so it has a very nautical feel.

Their “Cancun Burrito” is wonderful if you like seafood! Wonderful Guacamole made right at the table.

Our favorite downtown Stuart Asian restaurant. We like to sit outside and enjoy the evening. Then head next door to the Sneaki Tiki for a tropical drink and often live music. It has a great combination of Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese food.

A beautiful nature preserve along a canal off of the South Fork Saint Lucie River. It's about a 10 or 15 minute walk on a crushed shell path from the parking lot to a very nice dock with a scenic view that will inspire you to take a photo. The tree overhanging the river has the best assortment of air plants that one night ever see. Go early before the heat sets in or later in the day (use your bugspray late in the day if you're prone to insect bites).

Twin Rivers Park
3505 SE Kubin AveA must-visit park in Rocky Point at the convergence of the Saint Lucie and Indian Rivers with views of the Saint Lucie Inlet and Stuart islands and sandbars. There are gopher tortoises nesting along the western walkway. There are two fishing piers with great views. The park opens at sunrise and closes at sunset.
This park provides many nature trails (if you are afraid of snakes, best to stay on the main trail!) and a main trail that cuts through some beautiful and variable scenery. The western side of the park consists of pine and palm foliage.

Great place to go kayaking down the "Lost River". South River Outfitters rents kayaks - it's right at the bend in Lost River Road after turning off of Kanner Hwy (Route 76).

One of the best of Martin County's beaches. It has showers to wash off after going to the beach. Chef Shack is there for a lunch or a snack. The central part of this beach has lifeguards. We prefer to walk north of the main beach for some more privacy (one doesn't need to walk far). The water is 84 degrees F on average in the summer months! A great place to watch the sunrise!

On a point overlooking the Saint Lucie River and Inlet. Many people come here to BBQ and fish. There are boat ramps as well. A kayak launch site is on the northeast corner of the park and there are sandbars and islands to head to East of the launch point.

Tiki Bar Restaurants and Live Music
Cool places to have food and drinks often with live music in a nautical Tiki bar kind of setting. Great places for casual open air tropical dining usually with happy hour specials.
