Burgers are kind of pricey, but it's SF and they're amazing. Plus the location is pretty close to Union Square. My favorite is the Mushroom Swiss burger.

Delicious tacos. Two of these should fill most people up pretty well. Be sure to get them "Nick's Way" (i.e. crispy with Jack cheese and guacamole).

This one's in a nicer neighborhood, but the Larkin one (while in a seedier place) is closer to Union Square. It's an authentic Thai restaurant that changed my life. My favorite dishes are Kor Moo Yang (grilled pork neck with great flavors and just the right amount of fat and chewiness) and the Tom Yum Soup with shrimp.
