Yishantang is derived from a term that refers to living a righteous and generous life. When it was built is unknown; what is certain is that it is a Chinese style shrine where people prayed for safe sailing ships that went back and forth to China and the unity and enlightenment of Chinese people with the increased number of Chinese in Incheon after the Incheon port opening. Since it is a shrine, one should be solemn and silent when walking around the place.
