“If you have time for an overnight or weekend ferry trip (or want to spring for a seaplane flight), Orcas Island is a great bet. Visit Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor to decide which is more charming and check out Lime Kiln State Park for spectacular views. If you’re really lucky, you might even see some whales.”
