Gropius & Schmieden designed the building as an arts & crafts museum (opened 1881). After being damaged 1945,it wasn’t until 1966 that it was classified as a historical monument.Reconstruction began in 1978.Since than it has become one of the most famous & most beautiful exhibition halls in Germany.

The Gropius Bau has the best exhibitions. Exciting, interesting and inspiring. And the building is also wonderful.
