Moon Plains are an open area full of fields, forests, walking paths and surrounding mountains. This is the kind of place for visitors who love taking walks in nature or spending the day out in the open.

Only if you are nature lover visit this place. If not this will be very boring place to you. Before this place was agricultural land. Sometimes you can see animal species which are specific to Sri Lanka. There is an observation place in moon plains. You can see mountain range in 360°view. And there is a border of central province of Sri Lanka and Uva province. You can capture group photos here with 360 ° view. It is very awesome.

Nestled 6,200 feet above mean sea level, Moon Plains offers visitors a spectacular 360 degree unique picturesque view of surrounding mountain ranges. Moon Plains is a landscape with a grandeur view and is gaining in popularity as the "second world's end". Moon Plains is surrounded by cloud forests and unique diversity of flora and fauna and has similar characteristics to that of Horton Plains. Unlike the excursion to Horton Plains, which takes 6 to 8 hours, the excursion to Moon Plains can be completed in 2 hours. Thus, if you have a tight travel schedule the excursion to Moon Plains would be a good alternative experience to Horton Plains.
