The fish shop inside Drummoyne’s Harris Farm Market not only has a spanking-fresh selection of the day’s best catch, it also has a raw bar manned by seafood legend Stephen Hodges. Whether it’s live sea urchin, sashimi scampi, or crispy-skinned mirror dory, the seafood is among the best in Sydney—at a fraction of traditional restaurant prices. Call in advance and ask if Hodgie is working. He’s a beautiful cook, and his passion, yarns, and dry humour are pure entertainment. His mixed plate of house-cured and smoked Mount Cook alpine salmon from New Zealand is sublime.
