It dates back to an earlier time and is wonderfully kept up. It is clear that the staff really care about the property and the history it preserves. The grounds were lovely. Definitely worth visiting!

One block to the north on Hope Street sits this spectacular mansion which was the home of Samuel Colt, the inventor of the Colt 45 pistol. Tours of the home are available. The Bristol art museum is on the grounds.
