Visit Grove of the Titans! Absolutely incredible trail. It’s about 2.25 miles and I’d say it’s pretty accessible to most, some elevation gain and loss but nothing too crazy. To get to it you need to follow an old logging road, all packed dirt so no 4 wheel drive needed, that’s about 1.5 cars wide. There’s some parking near the trail head, we didn’t have a problem finding a spot, and a bathroom as well. The raised platform is such a wonderful way to preserve the forest floor and allow us to see more of the grove, definitely take all the split offs!

Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park is a preserve of old-growth redwoods along the Smith River. It is located along U.S. Route 199 approximately 9 miles (14 km) east of Crescent City. One of the groves, totaling 5,000 acres (2,000 ha), includes the world's largest (not tallest) coast redwood, which measures 20 fe

If you’re interested in exploring the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, we definitely recommend stopping by the Visitor Center to get some more info. All the rangers are super kind and friendly and love sharing what they know about the area as well as some great recommendations on things to explore! There’s lots of free guided tours as well you can ask about, including hiking and river kayaking tours.
