This is a worthwhile stop, just avoid weekend crowds. Plan to peruse the myriad of unique local shops and eateries.

The Ferry Building down on the Embarcadero is a terrific place to spend an afternoon. Tons of shops and restaurants along with amazing views of the Bay and the Golden and Bay bridges. NOTE: make sure to stop at Hog Island Oyster company if you make it!

The Ferry Building has a lot of restaurants and shops, as well as a lovely Farmer's Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. It's a little on the pricey side, but it's a beautiful building right on the water, with amazing views of the Bay Bridge. Take the inbound N Judah (across the street in front of Padrecito), and take it to the Embarcadero stop (7 stops)
