If the weather is nice this is such a great walk. Especially in the spring and summer. You do have to pay for parking typically. The views of Lake Mendota are absolutely incredible. Great spot for a picnic.

This is a beautiful 1 mile hike in the heart of the University of Wisconsin.

A 1 mile hike to the tip of the point gives you a panoramic view of the University of Wisconsin and downtown Madison. Located in the heart of the UW campus on Lake Mendota.

Picnic Point is a spit of land into Lake Mendota. Lovely short hike to the end gives good views of the Capitol and downtown and across the lake. Good for birding, gentle hiking, and picnicking.
