With the deep water harbor and the amount of fishing charters that operate out of this area the spit is a essential part of the town of Homer. Even though I would consider the heart of town more up along Pioneer ave, Homer wouldn't be what it is with out the business and tourism that the Spit…

Pick a sunny day and spend it on the Spit! You'll find everything from local hand-crafted jewelry, artwork, clothes, and unique souvenirs. You can also book boat tours, get a hot cup of locally brewed coffee, or just take a stroll on the beach. The bike path is world class.

The Homer Spit is the hub of activity in the Summer. You can walk the docks and check out the crab boats that star in the Deadliest Catch. There are lots of shops along the main drag and you can walk the beaches.
