Italian style pizza.. you eat at big long picnic tables where you can watch the masters at work making your pizza. Lots of tvs here where you can catch sports games etc. Good for large groups!

PROPER Neapolitan pizzas. We crave these 24/7 but exercise serious will power with only twice / month visits.

My favorite pizza place in town, DeSano serves Pizza Napoletana in Midtown. The pizza is made in plain sight and it’s served on huge cooking sheets. DeSano takes the tradition of pizza very seriously by importing ingredients from a specific region of Italy. From the flour to the mozzarella to the ovens, this is about as authentic as one can find in Nashville (or anywhere that's not Italy!).

This upscale casual restaurant uses 800 degree ovens imported from Italy to create thin crust, authentic, Neapolitan pizza that is truly spectacular. I recommend the San Gennaro which has San Marzano tomato sauce, sausage, peppadews, fresh garlic, caramelized onions, scamorza, mozzarella di bufala, and pecorino romano. It’s amazing. Their cannolis are pretty darn good as well. The restaurant used to be BYOB but now it is BYOV (Bring Your Own Vino). They don’t allow beer anymore because some knuckleheads kept bringing kegs. Ahh well… Grab a bottle of wine and head over there!
