Herstmonceux is renowned for its magnificent moated castle, set in 550 acres of glorious parkland & superb Elizabethan gardens and very near the the Observatory Science Centre.
The castle gardens are well worth visiting, and the Observatory Science Centre is the former site of the Royal Greenwich Observatory and has historic telescopes which are sometimes open, and lots of science activities
