Gorgeous walks that make you feel you’re in the country, short walk from my flat to get there. Some really interesting things to see such as the “steel man” who stands in the water in a couple of places. Also lovely to do a run here, if you want to do a bit of cardio! And completely free!
Take a walk up the Water of Leith towards the Modern Art Gallery (have a coffee here) at Belford Road or walk down towards the Port of Leith (nice bars and restaurants)
Long footpath running beside the water from Leith, through the city, and out again to the south. Go as far as you want, then get the bus back. Most of it can be cycled too.
Fantastic walking path which follows the Water of Leith from the Pentland hills to the south of Edinburgh all the way to Leith docks. You can join it at various places in the city. The nearest point to my flat is at Canonmills, near the Botanical Gardens.
The banks of Edinburgh's secret river, the Water of Leith meander tranquilly like a ribbon of countryside in the valley far below Edinburgh city centre. Join the walkway at one of several "portals" such as at Roseburn, Magdala Cresent, Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Dean Village or…
