Pickup is about proving yourself on the court. I like to go Riverside once in a while to catch weekend warriors who don’t know me. That gets me pumped to play. There are benches in front of the courts to wait for your game or just watch. The younger kids tend to play full, while players of all levels use the four half courts. There’s a guy that comes around with a cooler full of Gatorade, water, and soda. It sells for a dollar or two.

Gorgeous views of the river. Several walking paths. Community grills and picnic tables. Community soccer, baseball and tennis areas. The park is equipped with restrooms and water fountains.

Riverside Park is a scenic waterfront public park in the Upper West Side, Morningside Heights, and Hamilton Heights neighborhoods of the borough of Manhattan in New York City. The park consists of a narrow 4-mile (6.4 km) strip of land between the Hudson River/Henry Hudson Parkway and the serpentine Riverside Drive.

Hang with real New Yorkers! Riverside Park borders the East River throughout uptown Manhattan. Great for bike rides, picnic, scenic views of the bridges, or a nice walk. Plenty of picnic tables and areas for sports available as well.
