It's only 15 km. from here and you can visit the XI century monumental abbey with its centenarian botanic garden. And don't forget to drop in at the "Chalet" of the Consuma Pass to taste its famous "schiacciata coi funghi", a kind of pizza with mushrooms.

“The forest of San Antonio does not have a well-defined history to which I can refer exclusively. A first portion of land among those who today are part of it, along with the land of the Vallombrosa forest were donated, around 1000, from noble families, including the Guidi, the Adimari and the monastery of S. Ilario Fiano (S.Ellero, Reggello), to the monks of Vallombrosa. These, with John Gualberto, founded in Vallombrosa in 1039 the monastic order of Benedictine monks. These lands total were composed of "turkey oaks and other trees"”
