Can Can is actually a great place to eat lunch or dinner, but I like it most in the early morning for coffee. it's perfect place for an 8am business date, or to go read a book with french press and the windows open. They also have an absinthe bar for later in the day.

So far, this has to be our favorite French restaurant. They have daily specials which are amazing - and if you're an early bird, they have a wonderful coffee bar with pastries 7am-11am. Grab a coffee and pastry and sit by the window and people watch - or grab & go and walk around Carytown!

In Carytown. Fairly pricey. French, visually lovely inside, even waitstaff look cool, beet salad is to die for, morning brunch is nice too. Really nice place for brunch, lunch or dinner. Consistently good. Photographs well. Just pretty in there.

“The original location of this Richmond favorite is located in a repurposed gas station, across the street from a few cute clothing and vintage shops. Great coffee and a diverse menu of sandwiches. Definitely a hipster magnet and quite a scene--good people watching and lots of outdoor seating. For quieter workspace (but no menu), check out the Summit Street location in Scott's Addition; the Morris Street location near VCU has more indoor seating and a full menu.”
