Amazing landscape, crazy rock formations and blowholes at high tides!

Good food made on site, friendly owners and amazing location. Across the road from the famous pancake rocks. My mural on the icecream container depicts the local blue penguins and petrel birds on the pancake rocks. Check out the penguin carving at the front of the cafe and other artwork.

As well as the Cafe, they also stock a great range of Global Culture NZ merino and other clothing. Manuka Honey and other great buys.

The Pancake Rocks at Dolomite Point near Punakaiki are the West Coast’s most famous attraction. Over 30 million years old, the Pancake Rocks are eroded limestone cliffs where the sea bursts through vertical blowholes. The Pancake Rocks are a five minute drive from BIV Punakaiki.

Best to go at high tide for the effect of the waves on the rocks
