La Brea Pitch lake is the largest natural deposit of asphalt in the world (an estimated 10 million tons of asphalt). It is located about 40 minutes drive from the accommodation. It covers approximately 100 acres of asphalt which is about 250 feet deep. Guests can usually bathe in the ponds that contain sulphur and can ask for a guided tour at the location.

This is Trinidad's enormous pitch lake and, it's one of the Island's natural resources. It has the natural deposit of asphalt and estimated to contain 10 million tons. This pitch lake is known to many as the 8th wonder of the world and it's the major supplier of asphalt to the international world.
