The Sanctuary of Atotonilco is a church complex and a World Heritage Site, designated along with nearby San Miguel de Allende. The mural work has led the complex to be dubbed the "Sistine Chapel of Mexico".
A very historical church and monastery still in use, where thousands of devout Catholics from all over the country come for pilgrimage and silent retreats.
Just like San Miguel de Allende, this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cute little village and interesting relationship with San Miguel and the history of the independence from Spain in 1810.
