Not as the first place to see on your first visit or if you are only staying for a day in Newcastle but still worth a visit if you find the time, only 10 mins walk from the flat. This Victorian park was voted "Britain s best park" in 2005. There s a lake in the middle and next to the Rose garden you ll see a lovely old building with a cafe on the side. Great place for a picnic. I usually play basketball there. By the way, you might see alot of Orthodox jewish people on your way to the park. Its an amazing scene.

A little further afield but has a maze, animal corner, play park a lake, a train for kids in the summer + a very nice scenic walk.
