Back for its fourth year - the most festive event of the year!
We will take a magical Christmas tour through the historic streets of central York, voted the UK's most Festive City. Along the route I will take you on a unique journey through the history of Christmas in the city, helping you to understand how the traditions of Christmas evolved through history.
We will use beautiful locations in the ancient city as our backdrop, to tell the story of how an ancient mid winter festival developed into the Christmas we enjoy today. Bringing to life stories of how the Romans, Vikings, Victorians and others introduced their customs into our celebrations and we find the source and meaning of our traditions that make up Christmas and New Year.
The tour lasts 90 minutes through the street and alleyways of historic York and we finish our tour around the Christmas Tree in St Helen's Square. A truly unique Christmas experience in the UK's best-loved city.
We will all follow the Government guidance on social distancing to keep everyone safe.
Other things to note
Dress suitability for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. The walk is on flat solid ground but will involve standing

Before we start to make our mosaic, we will meet outside the Mosley street entrance of Manchester Art Gallery to begin our walking bee tour.
The art gallery is the perfect place to start. We will spot a few bees, explore the significance of the Manchester bee and look at some Pre-Raphaelite Art.
Then onto Manchester Town Hall to pay homage to Alfred Waterhouse (1830 ~1905) the architect of the gothic style masterpiece. He had the vision for the incredible bee mosaic floor, the inspiration for our mosaic.
Then over to Library Walk to see the flower mosaic floor and spot some more worker bees.
As we make our way through the streets of Manchester we will see wonderful examples of architecture.
Onto "Whitworth Locke Hotel” Co Working Space, Whitworth Street. Where we will settle in with a tea or coffee from Foundation Coffee.
I’ll guide you through the mosaic process and techniques. Sharing my skills and tips on how to make your own mosaic bee.
You’ll leave with a unique mosaic to treasure forever, a wonderful memory of your trip to Manchester.
All materials will be provided.
The experience is a wonderful welcome to Manchester, you're going to have the best time. It’s a unique experience, I know you'll love.
This will be an excellent way of meeting new people if you are travelling alone.

We will walk from Danby up onto the moors and through the ancient oak woodland to forage for wild free food.
We will see and learn about the rich wild harvest found on the moors and valleys of the north york moors. You will learn about the local foods we can eat including berries, flowers, and herbs from the area.
I will teach you how to find and identify plants you can eat. We will find edible seasonal plants. I will explain how to prepare recipes and the uses of herbs, flowers, berries found, and medicinal uses of plants found.
The foraging walk will include moorland, a secret valley, and ancient woodlands You need to be able to walk over rough ground for approximately 5 km. walks can be shortened by arrangement .We can stop at a cafe at the end, at Moors Centre if desired
We will end at a cafe or pub for a drink or snack in Danby if you desire, possibly the moors centre, or the Duke of Wellington pub
Other things to note
Enjoy a special unique experience learning how to find natural plants you can use in a variety of ways including berries, nuts, seeds, and leaves. Walking up a beautiful hidden valley onto the moorland edge at a slow pace so we can appreciate the moors
Meet at the bakery in Danby.

We will start with a Demonstration of making a pot on wheel, then slab pot techniques to make a jar.
followed by your opportunity for you to make 2 pots in my studio in white clay.
Decorate your pot and take it home. It can be painted and decorated,you can make two pots one on the wheel and the other slab built
I will show you around my studio and explain how to make the pots including plates, bowls, tile, jewelry and buttons
Tea and coffee will be available. The session is 2 hours long
Another thing to note
bring old clothes you don't mind getting mucky
If you want to have your pot glazed and fired an extra session will need to be booked or I can do it for you and post it to u by arrangement. £30
You will go home with an understanding of ceramics and how to make your own pots bowls vases etc

You will:
• Tour the vegetable garden. Discuss permaculture, inter-cropping, perennials, no-dig, pests. Enter the greenhouse and see the hotbox and its crops: early salad, melons, tomatoes and grapes. See and discuss composting and (leaf) mulching.
• Tour the fruit and nut trees. Discuss growing , grafting and crossing apples and other fruit. See cordons, step-overs, espalier, standards. See sweet chestnut, cobs and walnuts. See a family tree with three apple varieties.
• See the 10+ varieties of soft fruit in the fruit cage.
• Feed the chickens and check for eggs. Discuss chicks, dual-purpose birds and general care.
• Watch the bees, and learn more about beekeeping. Try on a bee suit. Taste the honey.
• Walk along the (planted) foraging hedge with many different types of pollen and fruit for humans / bees. See the pears grafted to hawthorn.
• See the turkeys and discuss (Sep to Dec!).
• See the solar panels, wood pellet boiler, smart meter. Discuss all the energy systems.
• Hear a little history of 1870 Farlands House, and Hayfield village inc the dam and the Kinder Trespass.

Can't find a suitable date? Please get in touch. We will be walking/standing for 90 mins. Great walking from the door in the Peak District National Park. You are welcome to leave a car before/after.

We will give you a short talk on the Alpacas;
* how to keep you and your Alpaca safe
* how to put your Alpaca at ease and gain the most from your experience.
* the care and husbandry tasks for alpacas
We will match you to the Alpaca which would suit you best, collect "the boys" and go for a walk around our farm - this will be through wooded areas and fields and we will stop to allow you time to pet the Alpacas and get to know them. PLEASE ENSURE YOU WEAR SUITABLE FOOTWEAR.
We will have cuddles and photo opportunities and hand feed them.
You will be able to feel some of their fleece and if you wish you can collect some alpaca poop if you wish to make some "fertiliser tea" once you return home to help your garden grow! You may have the chance to meet our Swiss Valais Blacknose sheep.
You will leave the experience with increased knowledge about these wonderful animals and benefit from some time in their company.
There are 3 alpacas, each visitor will have 1 alpaca each, if you have a group of more than 3 people, please get in touch.
Alpacas are friendly animals who have a natural curiosity. They are nervous and can be startled easily so we try and minimise loud noises and quick movement, please ensure long hair is tied back. The experience is WEATHER DEPENDENT.

A 3 1/2 hour workshop enabling you to design and make your own silver ring or bangle (bangle is at extra cost)
Starting in copper you will learn how to adapt, and manipulate the metal by Sawing, piercing, hammering, annealing, patinating and forming. We will also cover 2 types of soldering. I will also cover texturing metal and include other techniques such as stamping.
After playing and designing your piece, the techniques you learn will then enable you to create a solid silver ring band or bangle.
IMPORTANT...
The Wonky Jewellery Shed is a frugally built workshop in the beautiful private grounds of Pepper Arden. We have a dog, cats and the chickens live next to the studio.
Its a rugged space with a friendly feel.
The studio is accessed by a 'wobbly, rustic' track which can be accessed by car. No public transport nearby.
You do not need any previous experience
Hand tools are used alongside a simple power tool. Safety goggles provided. Toilet (ground level of my house) and refreshments available
Extra bangle cost is £15.
Please understand that this is a working workshop/studio not a Gallery space
Yoga in Nature - Forest Bathing and Yoga in one experience
The yoga in nature workshop aims to combine the power of yoga with the benefit of forest bathing and connect you with your inner peace. You will hear the birds singing under the shadow of ancient trees. It is time to close your eyes and feel calmer, more present, and more aware of the beauty of nature surrounding you.
The experience helps you feel more connected to your body, senses, breath, and inner peace.
The yoga in nature experience will be taught in English or Italian, depending on the language of the attendees.
I am a 500hrs qualified Yoga Teacher.
The event will start with a meeting in the designated location at the beginning of the forest.
The participants will be guided through the woods to the area where the yoga event will take place.
After the session, those interested will be guided to the Woodland Coffee Stop and Discovery centre.
The centre is a highly-regarded contemporary design crafted from wooden materials that blend with the natural landscape.

Relax and unwind at the Hideaway with yoga, meditation, swim
Come to relax at the Hideaway!
Private retreat! On arrival at 11 o clock, you will have a welcome drink followed by an hour’s bespoke personal yoga practice. Please come dressed in comfy yoga gear and bring flip flops.
I provide mats, blocks and straps and I practice hatha yoga so we will run through some yoga poses and also practice sun salutation. Beginners welcome!
At 12.15, You will then relax on mats or beanbags with scented eye pillows whilst I take you through a guided visualisation meditation - we will visit a beach and relax your entire body.
At 12.45 You will then have an opportunity to swim in the private pool.
After your swim, around 1.30pm, you can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea by the pool or in the garden. This will include your choice of finger sandwiches (salmon/cream cheese or egg mayonnaise/tuna mayonnaise/cucumber and cream cheese/cheese and pickle/ham and mustard) plus homemade scones with jam and clotted cream and other treats. I can cater for allergies. I have a 5 star food hygiene certificate.
I will provide unlimited teas, coffees, waters and fruit teas.
You are welcome to bring Prosecco which I can serve with the afternoon tea.
You will be welcome to change in our private bedrooms and use the private bathroom to shower. Luxury toiletries will be provided for you.

Photography tour around the city
I will welcome guests in the city centre and take them through several places within a 20 minute walk around. The areas covered will be The Northern Quarter, Spinningfields, Castlefield, The canal area off Great Ancoats and the busier football museum which has unique and interesting architecture. This section will take aprox 60 minutes. We will then move to Salford Quays to explore the beautiful and futuristic scenery which the Quays is renowned for, walking along the canal and over the bridge to the Science museum and back through the open spaces within the campus and adjacent to BBC studios and the greater Media city area.
Rock Climbing in the Peak District
Whether you have always dreamed of trying rock climbing, push yourself and learn new skills or spend quality time with your family or friends, you are in the right place.
You will have a go at rock climbing at one of the best gritstone edges in the Peak District National Park, learn how to hold each other’s ropes and even learn some of the techniques essential to climbing independently.
The sessions are encouraging, positive, and friendly, and the aim is to give you the best experience possible so that you finish the day feeling empowered and have a sense of achievement, a repertoire of new skills, and a big smile on your face!
You can either book a space on an open group or you can choose a private booking.
I run open courses on selected evenings only but private courses can be booked Monday to Sunday at either 9 or 10 am, 2 pm, and 5 pm.
The cost for a private 1/2 day course (3 hours up to 6 people) is £170 and for the Full Day it is £240 and lasts 6 hours). I can also facilitate larger groups, please message me for a price and availability.

Beyond a tale of gunpowder, treason and plot, this tour tells the comprehensive story of Guy Fawkes, from his family history in York to growing up and the influences surrounding him as a Protestant and later a recusant Catholic.
Tour guide Vicki first became interested in Guy Fawkes in 2009, and her passion is one of the reasons that she moved to the city.
She interweaves her own personal journey of being diagnosed with stage 4b cancer, treatment, and remission, with the story of his life.
Foraging walk for spring edible wild foods in Yorkshire
Spring has arrived and the woods are about to burst with edible spring greens.
Come and join me in this unique beginners foraging experience where you will get introduced about what foraging really is, identify a some spring wild edible foods and what to do with them.
The walk will start with a short introduction about myself and what we will be doing during the day and what’s are we going to look for.
The whole day will last approximately 3h, we will be walking and admiring the beautiful countryside that surround us while talking and spotting our wild foods to forage.
After the walk we will seat by the river (bring your own picnic blanket or towel) and I will serve you a Vegetarian light lunch made by me with seasonal wild foods, like for example my delicious nettle soup, wild garlic pesto or my seeded GF homemade bread.
We will enjoy lunch in a peaceful setting while we relax and chat about this lovely recipes that you later on can make at home with what you just foraged.
Sometimes you are given so much information in the day that you get home and don’t even remember what you have picked or how was the recipe we talked about. Do not worry! I will send you an email with everything we talk on the day, to help you remember what you have learnt.

Foraging walk along the cliffs at Whitby. We will find and identify edible and medicinal plants on the cliff path .
there are many plants that our ancestors ate that we have forgotten about and are delicious eg yarrow nettles, plantain, doc, and many others!
Foraging is a mindful and relaxing experience. It’s good for the body mind and spirit
Meeting by the old abbey to the left of the brewery on abbey plain , we will walk to Satlwick and identify edible plants. We will go down to the beach if the weather is good and the group is suitable. Walk approx3.5 km so a good level of fitness is needed.
We can stop for a drink in the brewery after if open
I am an experienced qualified forager with many years of experience. come and experience a unique walk and learn about plants that are good for a healthy mind body and spirit. I will tell you how to prepare and use the herbs we find
Enjoy a private swim in luxurious surroundings
You will be welcomed to an annex of our home, via a private entrance to enjoy a private swimming experience. During your experience you will have sole use of the private pool if you book as a private group and use of private bathroom. For larger groups there are also 2 bedrooms which can be used for changing. The pool is heated to 30 degrees with very warm air temperature to ensure your comfort. The pool is in picturesque surroundings in our gardens and adjacent to the pretty beck. You also have the use of a table seating area during your swim. Use of floats included. Food and drink can be provided at additional cost (I.e. afternoon teas and children’s lunchboxes).
On arrival at the pre agreed time, the pool will be opened for you to enjoy your swim. The swim is unsupervised so you must have a sensible ratio of adults/swimmers to children/non swimmers.
The experience is suitable for fitness, families, couples.
