Our secluded cabins are on top of a mountain with on-property access to the Doe Mountain Recreational Area. Close to National and State Parks, Skiing, Hiking, Camping, Watauga Lake, Boone and Blowing Rock, NC; Damascus and Abingdon, VA . We are centrally located to major attractions but be careful if sightseeing, adventure, or family fun is on your agenda. Once you are here, you might not want to leave. Great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids). Dog friendly.

Ruby's Rest

NO CLEANING FEES. NO TO DO LISTS BEFORE CHECKING OUT. NO PET FEES. Cozy, private one room cottage (with bathroom), run by a loving, easy-going, non-judging family. Cottage measures 12' x 24' (total of 288sq. feet). Very relaxed environment. Flat rate of $50.00. UPDATE: Deck is now enclosed with old window panes. Super cozy. Has a sink with hot/old water, a hot plate, large toaster oven, and utensils. I am am still putting finishing touches on it, but available for use. Pictures soon.

Oak Leaf Bungalow in Damascus

Hurricane Helene caused damage to many trails including the Creeper, which is closed from White Top thru Damascus, altho the section near Abingdon is open. Most roads open. Our Bungalow is intact. Electricity & water are restored. Please email with any questions. The bungalow is walking distance to the center of town. We're just 15 minutes from Abingdon. The house is cozy and we have a great yard for kids and dogs. Our landline phone has unlimited long distance and we have Wifi and Roku TV

BEAUTIFUL SETTING by the River ONLY 6 mile drive to DAMASCUS ,VA! This quaint, private RUSTIC log cabin is newly furnished, screened in porch, gazebo and nice trails! Nestled on 7 acres with 8 ponds. Hear the sounds of the creek right behind the cabin and cross the bridge to see the horses! This Land was home to the Cherokees and offers not only a place to stay but an experience. One time PET FEE $50for one dog. $35 additional for one dog under 30 lbs. Pay cash once here.

Up on the Laurel’s Dongola Cabin is a secluded, compact 384 square foot cabin designed to be a place for recreating, writing, relaxing and star-gazing. It sits on the south side of Iron Mountain in the Jefferson National Forest’s Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and takes in the scenic views of Whitetop Mountain and Mount Rogers. Its proximity to sites and towns of middle Appalachia, along with its fresh water, fresh air and relaxed pace make our cabin a lovely spot to visit.

Connect with nature at Loon Tune's cabin tucked in a quiet cove with pristine views of the Cherokee National Forest and Watauga Lake. This location is teaming with wildlife -Wood Ducks, Kingfishers, Bald Eagles, and Loons, hence the name. This tranquil Butler, TN retreat offers a dock w/ deep water access, 2 kayaks, a canoe, SUP & oasis pad. Stargaze by the fire pit or play ring toss under the twinkle lights. Walk down the steps and jump in the 3rd cleanest lake in the country! Paddle our 17ft Canoe or 2 kayaks, view bald eagles or explore 105 miles of national forest. Then relax by the outdoor firepit to end your day with views of the sunset.

Raven Ridge at the Channels, great views, hot tub!

Raven Ridge Lodge is a unique and wonderful retreat located on a mountain top in a natural rhododendron garden. It makes a great base for visiting the Channels Natural area. Take a hike, and then relax in the hot tub. The views are spectacular. My guests tell me my photos don't do justice to the mountain top. Come and see for yourself!

Lazy Daze Cabin

Lazy Daze Cabin is near West Jefferson, just below a state park atop Mount Jefferson. Our private cabin is in a quiet spot nestled in the woods just minutes from hiking & biking trails, golfing, canoeing, tubing, snow skiing, and more, but is a million miles away from the 9-to-5 grind.
