Cwt Glo eco cottage Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)/ Zip World

Cwt Glo is a cosy and peaceful cottage for two in Northern Snowdonia nestled between two mountain ranges the Carneddau and Glyderau. Cwt Glo is situated in a small village near Bethesda called Mynydd Llandygai. There is private off road parking next to the cottage. Cwt Glo is Welsh for Coal house and the cottage was the place where the coal was weighed and measured. The property has been both a farm and coal yard for the local area. Cwt Glo is a semi sustainable/off grid cottage it has a solar and wind system however there is the backup of mains electricity. There is also an LPG central heating and hot water system. The cottage has a wood burning stove to keep you cosy and warm in the evening after a busy day exploring the local area. We also provide the wood for your stay.

This traditional quarrymans cottage is full of character, with lots of quirky features, well situated to make the most of what Snowdonia has to offer, 10 minutes stroll along Lon Las Ogwen cycle path to Zip World, Europes longest zipwire. Relax in front of the woodburning stove after a days exploring, watch the sun set over Penrhyn Castle, take a walk down to the beach, or enjoy a drink at the The Slate Tavern and a walk home across the fields. Tan Lon Cottage is an idyllic break away.

Take a local walk in the Ogwen valley, to Zip World or access climbing, walking, mountain biking and kayaking activities in Snowdonia directly from the cottage. A relaxing evening soak in the hot tub can be recommended.

The cottage is a self contained one bedroom annexe, on our working hill farm on the outskirts of the village of Tal y Bont, providing an ideal base for exploring the mountains, lakes, castles and coastlines. The cottage has been sensitively restored and maintains many of its original features, including a crog loft (please note that access is via steep stairs) and exposed beam ceilings. The cottage is within 60 acres of beautiful hillside farm.
