Completely re-imagined by a designer/architect, this 1950's house was stripped to the studs to be recreated into a modern oasis of cool just ten minutes to the epicenter of downtown Austin. Appointed with every comfort, the home sports sliding glass walls to the backyard to allow the inside out and the outside in. An expansive living room gets even larger with the view to the backyard's minimalist "mound of grass" and the communal fire-pit beyond. A massive 12 foot long dining table adds casual chic to any grill-out dinner party you may want to throw under the Texas stars, or just a leisurely cool morning coffee. Riley's Irish Pub, East Austin Yoga, The kNomad Global Bar, Kirby Lane (pancakes!) and the amazing Paco's Tacos, just to name a few. The eco-friendly, HEB grocery center (.25 miles from the house) has everything from Starbucks & Liquor, to pizza & gas just moments away. There are busses which are frequented by the students in the area, and the nearest light rail is at Highland Mall just 1 mile away. However, like most of Austin, the most convenient option is to have a car. This property is used by the owner for entertaining his own family and guests. The smaller, second bedroom includes a day bed with trundle - great for kids!- as well as a desk with comfortable chair to use as a workspace. There are also 3 DART stops within 5 minutes walk- all off Henderson- that will take you into downtown or can link you to a rail station nearby to get to your destination. There is a keypad entry on the front door so no need to keep track of a set of keys. The home has an alarm system for additional piece of mind and if you're comfortable using it, we can supply a personal code to use during your stay. Also, Monday is our trash and recycle day.
