Nearby multiple wilderness areas, superb mountain stream fishing, small lake fishing, swimming area & beach, wildlife management areas & miles of trails offer tons of natural amenities and outdoor opportunities.

Hungry Mother Park offers a beach and swimming area. Small lake fishing is offered in the park and superb mountain stream fishing is offered in the area. The park adjoins the Back of the Dragon trail, a popular motorcycle route. Jefferson National Forest and the George Washington National Forest are located nearby.
