This is an easy, unfussy place designed for people who actually want to be near the water — walk, breathe, read, bbq and reset. The house sits directly on the water with wide views, big skies, and changing light throughout the day. It’s peaceful, private, and ideal for guests who value space, nature, and quiet. Chose your deck: morning sun, afternoon sun or rain.

The old trail cabin.

Situated on a hillside overlooking the historic St. Ann’s bay, the Old Trail cabin is conveniently located just 5.5km from the start of the Cabot trail and the Gaelic College. A great spot to start or finish your Cabot Trail adventures! The cabin is designed to feel as open and airy as possible for a small space. The bedroom has a queen bed and the loft has a single bed. Kitchenette has coffee maker, toaster, mini fridge and microwave. All amenities needed are only 15 mins away in Baddeck.

This fully equipped cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a pull-out couch, washer, dryer, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, and a full kitchen with a fridge, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, and BBQ. We are 30 minutes from the Newfoundland Ferry terminal in North Sydney, 20 minutes from the entrance to the Cabot Trail via the Englishtown Cable Ferry . We are 30 minutes from the Village of Baddeck, home of the Alexander Graham Bell Museum and the and the Falls in rear Baddeck. Louisbourg is 1 1/2 hours away.

My 2 bedroom cottage has a private yard and screen porch for morning coffee (provided!☕️). 2 small bedrooms both have queen beds and dressers, full living room, fully equipped kitchen (just bring food/spices). Full bathroom with walk-in shower. Private BBQ. FAST Starlink WIFI, shampoo, soaps provided. Leashed dogs A-ok! 🐕 😊 Driveway is steep but well maintained. Sorry, no motorcycles, please.
