This 3-bedroom 1 bath retreat preserves its original character while offering the amenities today's travelers appreciate. Nestled on a 60-acre horse farm, the property offers a peaceful escape surrounded by pastures, woods, a pond, and the quiet beauty of the countryside. Located 10 minutes to downtown Forest City, 25 minutes to Tryon International Equestrian Center, one hour from Asheville and Charlotte.

The Cottage at Gilbert Landing

This cozy 1955 Sears & Roebuck kit house has been brought back to life! We vaulted ceilings and removed walls, but kept the original footprint. It is just the right size for a getaway for 2 - 4 with 1 private bedroom and a sleeping loft. It has all the modern conveniences and is nestled at Gilbert Landing, 1 mile from downtown and 15 min to TIEC. We are dog-friendly, with host approval. There is a $99 pet fee for one dog. No dogs under 1 year. Additional pet & cleaning fees longer stays.

The house is centrally located in Forest City, where hiking and many outdoor activities are accessible. There's a city park across the treeline in front of the house which has tons of space, places to walk your dog, run the track, play/watch baseball, frisbee or take kids to the playground. There's enough to do if seclusion is your goal or plenty of things to venture out and experience.

Take it easy at our unique and tranquil getaway. Close to area wedding venues, GWU and South Mountain State Park. Nestled in Shelby between Charlotte and Asheville. Lovely 7 1/2 acre property with pond, fire pit and hiking trails. Three BR and 1 1/2 bath in 1100 ft.² Will sleep 6 people. A second Airbnb on the property is available and also sleeps 4-6. Send an inquiry for information. Maximum 2 pets allowed. NOTE: 6/25 upgraded to Starlink and Wi-Fi is no longer an issue.

The Hunt House Bed and Breakfast

The Hunt House was the beautiful home of Dr. Robert Lee Hunt of Lattimore, NC. It is on 6 acres of pasture and only 3.8 miles from the Washburn Switch Industrial Park. The house is fully furnished with 5 Handmade heart pine, cherry, and walnut bedroom suites, and has 5 bathrooms. The house has hardwood floors in most rooms, and antique furniture throughout the house. The house has a functional fireplace, and a large porch with 8 rocking chairs, that overlook the yard.

Located in Downtown Forest City this charming apartment, built in 2023, is within walking distance to Main Street for festivals, Christmas lights, Carriage Rides and all Forest City has to offer. POPS Pavilion venue is nearby as well as walking and biking on the paved rail trail. Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Tryon Equestrian Center, and Gardner Webb University all approximately 30 minutes away or less. Charlotte Airport, Asheville and GSP all within an hour drive.

Forest City FootHills Retreat

Beautiful home, just off the beaten (driveway) path in Forest City. We welcome large groups of at least 12 guests. This two-story home is in Forest City NC and is situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. The town is interconnected by three US highways, 74, 221, 64, and one state highway 108. Forest City is only 15 minutes away from the Tryon International Equestrian Center and soon to be Tryon AVA wine region.
