This is the one that's fun! Expect a few laughs, a few 'aha moments', and a little morbidity. Think 'Drunk History' style cemetery tour. The cemetery gets HOT in the Summer! A small group of up to 14 guests. We will meet in the heart of the French Quarter -- the corner outside of the Hotel St. Pierre (911 Burgundy Street). We’ll get to know each other for a few minutes like where everybody is from, what other tours they’ve done, interests, and such. We will walk a few blocks with plenty of pausing along the way as I humorously share our history from the 1680s up to the Jazz Age. By the time you enter the cemetery gates you will fully understand how it came to be. We will take a 10-minute break at a beautiful place called Basin Street Station with bathrooms and all sorts of amenities. Once in the cemetery, I will relay how our entombment practices work and all the real estate options in the 'city of the dead': family tombs, wall vaults, and benevolent societies. We'll see the tombs of such notables as Nicolas Cage (future), Battle of New Orleans veterans, Homer Plessy, and the Voodoo queen herself -- Marie Laveau! By the time we’re done, all the seemingly unrelated tales are weaved into a tapestry that is uniquely New Orleans. Ironically, this tour is one of the most fun and funniest tours while still being informative. www.brianthetourguide.com

Brian

I’m Brian, and the French Quarter is my home. I’m a natural born storyteller and know the real New Orleans -- its history, its folklore, and its legends. You can learn more about our city from the dead than the living. I’m passionate about sharing my city and the 'city of the dead' with others in a lighthearted and 'drunk history' sort of spirit. I had a midlife crisis and, instead of buying a sports car or Harley, I quit my real job and became a full-time tour guide and raconteur. I have done thousands of tours. I’m a high-energy, funny, and charismatic speaker. Point is: expect to be entertained as well as informed. If you would like to read some of my over one-thousand 5-star reviews, google 'Brian cemetery and voodoo tour guide New Orleans'. Le lieu

In this walk, we'll see St Louis Cathedral, Mortuary Chapel, Basin Street Station, family tombs, benevolent society tombs, wall vaults, the tombs of such notables as Nicolas Cage (future), Battle of New Orleans veterans, Homer Plessy, and the Voodoo queen herself -- Marie Laveau! Additionally, there will be many moments I might just stop and share a random fact -- That's called a lagniappe (lan-yap) in New Orleans. . .A little something extra.

You're in New Orleans, and I highly recommend making some poor life choices while you're here -- I'm not judging. But please avoid getting too 'lit' prior to this or any tour...maybe just a buzz. :-)
