The Garden House is a peaceful stone cottage set in the historic gardens of High Glanau Manor, the home of H. Avray Tipping (1855-1933) the Architectural Editor of Country Life Magazine from 1907. The cottage is located just out of the centre of Hay opposite the beautiful St Mary's Church. It is slightly quieter here than in the heart of the town but is still only a 5 minute walk into the centre. It is very easy to access the river walks, simply taking the path to the right of the church. The cottage is full of character with wooden beams, a wood-burning stove, the original fireplace in the bedroom, wooden flooring throughout the downstairs, and a beautiful south-facing garden.

The Studio in Priory Wood is a recently converted separate outbuilding next to our home which offers complete privacy and has a spacious, light interior tastefully furnished in a retro style. The Studio is 3 miles outside the beautiful town of Hay on Wye, on the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons and famous for its bookshops and annual literature, music and walking festivals as well as a host of charming independent shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a cinema and weekly farmers market.

The views of the Black Mountains are exceptionally beautiful from this lovely cottage in a very peaceful farm location overlooking the Llanthony Valley, 10 miles from Abergavenny. There is a log fire and underfloor heating in cold weather. Ideal for a relaxing escape. Wonderful walks from the doorstep in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Uncrowded hills and 2 pubs nearby. The historic Llanthony Priory has an atmospheric bar in the cellar with excellent evening food.

This recently refurbished cottage is in a peaceful location but only a 10 minute walk to local amenities (2 pubs, a cafe with a pop up restaurant and a shop) and the River Wye. Across from the house is a woodland walk taking you up to the common with stunning views of the Black Mountains. Choose this or many other walks, bike rides or canoeing down the river to explore this area of natural beauty. Or explore the famous book town, Hay on Wye only 5 miles away.
