Sæból remote farm, Westfjords

Sæból is a historic farm in one of the most remote parts of Iceland. Visitors will find a truly authentic experience of life in the Westfjords, past and present. It provides amazing access to the mountains and the sea, and the opportunity to enjoy the remoteness and quiet that make the Westfjords so special. In Sæból lives a friendly sheep farmer known as Bettý (my mother) and she is the last remaining resident of Ingjaldssandur. She also makes beautiful handcrafts that she sells at her house.

Ytri hús

An ideal place for exploring the whole Westfjords by day tours or enjoying a relaxing time in a remote area. In the far west you can see famous attractions such as the biggest fowl cliff in Europe, Látrabjarg - or the famouse white sand beach of Rauðisandur. One of the most beautiful and underestimated waterfalls of Iceland, Dynjandi, can be reached with a half an hour drive to the south. Ísafjörður, the biggest town in the Westfjords, is similarly around half an hour drive away to the north.

Welcome to our farmhouse in "Lækur in Dýrafjörður" where you'll be greeted by unique natural beauty. The house stands on 80 hectares of ground where you'll find beautiful views, scenic hiking trails, and spectacular natural beauty and tranquility all around, all year around. There is access to a private beach with private road to it. The area is sensitive in the summer time because of eider birds and needs to be treated carefully and with respect.
