Our cozy guest cottage has easy beachfront/kayak/canoe access (if you bring your own) and is located very close (within walking distance at low tide) to the public boat launch for larger boats. Great location to explore Deer Isle, Acadia (approx 1hr), Castine (45m), and the Bangor (1hr) area. Brave children and adults even swim from the beach but comfortable swimming ponds/lakes are 10m in several directions. The hot-tub is open year-round! Additional guests can be considered prior to booking.

The space includes 3 water-view bedrooms, bath, a large living room with high speed internet, and a well-equipped eat-in kitchen. Have you ever dreamt about adventuring to an island in Maine? Well, here’s your chance! You can either hop on a scheduled boat ride or take a 10 minute flight and arrive on this beautiful coastal escape. Matinicus Island is the epitome of what Maine Island life is all about. Boats, beaches, lobsters, hiking, exploring and peace and quiet. The way life should be. The Lightkeeper’s Cottage faces east and you can’t beat the sunrise over the ocean. Enjoy everything coastal Maine has to offer with this as your home base. The views are outstanding and the house is well appointed and well maintained. This house encompasses the second and third floors, with great ocean views. The first floor is a separate apartment. The property has a large back yard to relax or play in and a dedicated BBQ. The house sits across the street from Clam Cove and is not directly on the beach. Beach access is private, quick and easy.

Short drive will bring you to Camden Hills State park for hiking and site seeing.

Antique Barn Apartment at Salt Water Farm

This elegant and comfortable apartment in situated in an antique post & beam barn that sits perched above rolling fields and vegetable gardens looking out over the Penobscot Bay. From the porch, guests can watch the local lobsterman pick up traps and see schooners weaving through the islands. The apartment sits over Salt Water Farm Cooking School, a small recreational cooking school for home cooks.

You enter by walking down the expansive yard to the cabin (about 200 feet). The indoor bathroom, hot tub, and deck are at the main house where you park.
