This vintage forest cabin is perched above our pristine mountain stream, set amidst a highly diverse indigenous botanical forest wetland.The cabin is entirely private with a large deck and extensive views of both mountain peaks. Hand built by owner over a period of two years, with hardwood floors throughout, hand waxed with beeswax polish from our own hives. Guests enjoy their own private access along their secluded forest path. A vintage Nestor Martin canon style wood stove will restore you.

Rustic and Eco. Nothing fancy. Spaces are communal. Each cabin is a separate cabin with a double bed with bedding and towels provided. Limited electricity in each cabin, supplied 100% from solar energy. The cabins share a bathroom - a bath only. The bathroom may be shared with other guests during peak season. "Bird Song" private getaway, tucked away in nature

"Bird Song" is named after the host of bird calls that greet you each morning (and the night jars that you hear after dark). It is the perfect 'private bush camp' for a ‘family-of-4’ vacation or for a secluded ‘get-away-from-it-all retreat’ for couples. The architect designed timber structure is set on a slope with views through and over the fynbos and right at the edge of pristine Indigenous Forest. A wood fired fireplace ensures you are (relatively) warm in winter.

The cabin features an open-plan bedroom with a separate bathroom located within the cabin, as well as an indoor wood-burning fireplace for warm, inviting evenings. Step out onto the balcony overlooking the valley. Below, you’ll find a covered kitchenette area, along with a fire pit and wood-fired hot tub, creating a relaxed outdoor space to unwind. Suikerbossie Mountain Cabin

Soak up the peace and quietness while enjoying the true beauty that nature has to offer. The cabin was completed just before the lockdown. The building of the cabin was started by my husband and completed only 2 years later in remembrance of him.
