My house is very conveniently located: Keihan railway (Demachiyanagi station) is 1 minute away walking. Shimogamo Jinja (shrine) is 5 minutes walking. Ginkaku-ji (temple) is 10minutes walking. The reviews It was conveniently located near the Nintendo Museum (only 4 stops on the Kintetsu line). Living in a traditional Japanese house and talking to Japanese people was a great experience. It was a 2-minute walk from the bus stop that took me directly to Fushimi Inari. The view from the top was amazing, overlooking the city of Kyoto. It's a little far from the center but it was quiet and I slept well. Uzu introduced us to some restaurants around the inn, and they were all delicious.

Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.
