Set on 35 scenic acres with a micro dairy, chickens, and Buddy the blueberry-loving peacock, this cozy retreat offers fresh milk & eggs with your stay. The 700 sq ft space features a king bedroom and a pullout bed in the great room, plus a private patio with BBQ. We’re near the interstate, easy access, though some road noise is possible. Come relax at a cozy cabin along Piney Creek with a large wrap around porch. Open your windows to listen to the water running by all night with fresh cool air (no A/C sorry). The cabin features a queen size bed and a pull out couch. Kitchenette includes a sink, Keurig, toaster oven, microwave, hot plate, and mini fridge. The cabin features a gas fireplace, a covered porch with skylights and also has a glass dining table with four chairs. This cabin has cable TV that is also a smart TV and wifi.

Set deep in the spruce along N Clear Creek and bordering Bighorn National Forest on the south, our beautiful and modern cabin is close to all summer and winter outdoor activities plus 10 minutes from groceries and shopping in historic Buffalo. Activities right outside the door include fly fishing, hiking, hunting, snowshoeing, and X-country skiing.

The Story Place Peaceful Big Horn Mountain Retreat

Escape to the forest of the Big Horns in our 2 Bed 1 Full Bath/2 Half Bath vacation home in between Buffalo and Sheridan in the sleepyl town of Story. This tri-level unit has plenty of parking, a full kitchen, is fully furnished, and has plenty of space to relax. The entire upstairs and all bathrooms have been rennovated. Story is a town of 900 people, so there is one store open daily and two restaurant/bars. This is the place to stay if you are wanting a peaceful getaway.

If you enjoy fishing or boating, Lake DeSmet is just 2.5 miles away. The Bunkhouse has plenty of parking area for boat and trailer, or horse trailer. Horse corrals available.

Big Horn Getaway

The bedroom is in the loft above a working ceramics studio. The bathroom is on the main floor with one flight of stairs. We are located about two miles from the base of the Bighorn Mountains with a beautiful view and lots of privacy. It is a perfect getaway for two people who can handle the stairs. The space is not suitable for children under 18 or pets. We are unable to accommodate service dogs due to host's allergies.
