John’s place is a beautiful quiet location with a big garden and palm trees right by the beach . It’s very chilled and relaxing to hang out there. The little houses we slept in were great with a porch and chairs to look out on to the water. The breakfast was traditional Indian food , very tasty with fresh juices every morning . The only thing I was missing was the yoga classes . His wife ( the teacher) wasn’t around . Maybe Christmas timings were the reason but I was a little disappointed because it’s called yoga retreat . Everything else was amazing with a secluded beach to ourselves and a good walk to allepey beach or a short tuckruck ride to Marari beach . John was very helpful with his suggestions and travel arrangements . I would definitely come again .

The Stay was very good. The place was beautiful . Peaceful, quiet beach. Only after evening you can feel a little awkward if you’re not used to silence, because this place is too silent, no one will be there in the surrounding, only the noise of sea waves will accompany you :)

Melvin is an excellent host. He and his family are kind, attentive and lovely to be around. His place is great, exactly as you see in the photos, very clean, simple and comfortable- all you need! The balcony and dining area are great places to watch the sunset. Arthunkal beach comes alive in the evening when local youth play football, fishing boats line the shore and people gather to watch the sunset. The home cooked food was excellent, and Melvin and his wife were very helpful in providing meals that adhered to my dietary requirements (I had just finished 1 month of Ayurvedic treatment and was following dietary advice). Melvin was very helpful in providing local information. He introduced me to other travellers so that we could team up for a houseboat trip. He also personally took me to Marari beach on his bike as I am travelling solo, introduced me to friends of his there who could cook me lunch, and gave me access to a guest house with a bathroom as there are no public toilets on the beach. Excellent hospitality and kindness. Please note that both Arthunkal inparticular, and Marari beach, have quite a lot of rubbish. There were recent festivities on Arthunkal and I believe that in due course a clean up will be organised. As an Australian I'm a bit spoilt for beaches but I was disappointed by all the garbage and think travellers should be prepared for this. I also experienced upsetting harassment at Marari beach, which Melvins friend was very supportive and helpful with, but I would not recommend being solo female traveller here as you may get targeted and revieve a lot of unwanted attention (fully clothed, not even in a swimsuit!) and harassment. The water is beautiful and warm. The palm trees are lovely. There may be stretches of the beach less polluted but I didn't venture too far alone. Neither of these factors reflect on Melvin and the outstanding hospitality provided by him and his family. More of an FYI for travellers, particularly solo women. If you are looking for a place in Arthunkal beach I highly recommend Melvin and the homestay experience provided by him and his family.

The place is really nice just by the sea. It is very calm and peaceful. Boney and other staffs are very helpful, polite and kind. They assisted me for everything. Food is really good and very budget friendly here. I will definitely come to this place again if I am in Alleppy. You should definitely go for it if you are planning trip to Alleppy.

An Unforgettable Stay at the Best Airbnb in Cherthala! This place is truly a hidden gem! With a stunning view of the Vembanad Lake, a beautifully maintained swimming pool, and a scenic, peaceful atmosphere, it’s hands down one of the best Airbnbs I’ve ever stayed at. The property is extremely well-kept and bursting with charm — from rabbits, swans, ducks, and a pet hamster, to lush fruit trees and a dedicated indoor plant area, nature lovers will absolutely adore it here. Hosts Jose and Borjia were amazing — incredibly welcoming, always available, and genuinely caring. The food prepared by Tommy and his wife was simply outstanding — homely, flavorful, and customizable based on what you ask for. It made the stay feel even more personal and warm. It’s a very private space, perfect for relaxing, and if you’re up for some adventure, you can go for a boat ride or kayak right from the property. This place has everything — tranquility, nature, and quality. I’d recommend it to everyone.

Bernie has very thoughtfully curated this haven away from the hustle and bustle of the commercial tourist life you generally see in Kerala. The highlight is actually everything, the people, the private beach, the food is amazing. We found good friends at the property. It just felt like our own place. Extremely warm and hospitable. Loved every bit of it!!

Great location, great view. Well worth the money.

Beautiful property. The beach is very close to the property and you can really enjoy a private time there with your family. Shamil was really helpful and responsive. He arranged an early checkin for us and was throughout very responsive to all the queries. The caretaker Varghese was very sweet and helpful and arranged whatever we needed during the stay. The nearby restaurants also delivers to the location and Swiggy was also available. Would recommend this if you need to live by beach side and want to have a peaceful time.

This apartment was an excellent choice for our Cochin trip. Its prime location near Broadway, Marine Drive, and MG Road allowed us to easily walk to shops, restaurants, and entertainment. The apartment itself was beautifully appointed, with a stunning balcony offering panoramic views. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area added a touch of home comfort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.A perfect stay place for exploring Cochin

We really enjoyed our stay with Dominic. We had some initial difficulties at the beginning but were able to sort them out quickly and were very satisfied in the end. The location is perfect and really only a jump away from the beach. Dominic is a relaxed and nice guy who recommended a few local things and organised a kayak tour during sunrise.

Jerin was an excellent host and was helpful throughout our stay. We were provided with 2 bedrooms with attached bathooms. He provided good food and helped us with local transport to station and back. The rooms were basic but comfortable. There was no washing machine but a person was there to help hand wash the clothes. Bathrooms could have had better fittings but one cannot complain as the proximity to the beach meant any fitting would rust due to the salty sea air. The house is a 2 minute walk from the beach. The beach itself was spectacular, with hardly any debris. The waters were calm and clean. If you go in the early morning you can see the fishermen bring in their catch. We had a lovely trip and must once again thank Jerin for his hospitality.
