Experience staying in a Japanese temple where you can BBQ in! It is one of the few temples in Japan where one can stay at. You can stay in the temple grounds where religious activities of Jodo Shinshu (True Pure Land School) are being held. There is a main hall along with the head priest’s quarters (Kuri), and a spacious area covering ground of more than (100 Tsubo) 3600 sq ft with a separate cabin. After renovation made by a first-class architect, it has been made ready for accommodation.

Hinoki house: Traditional machiya, walk to sights.

A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara. Easy access via bus and train, supermarket, restaurants, convenience store, bakery, and a Japanese bath house just minutes away. This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!
