It is a government approved accommodation so it is safe and reliable. When renovating the house, we tried our best to keep or reproduce traditional structures such as the pillars, walls, and dirt floor, while replacing the bathroom with new modern facilities. *Lodge tax will increase from 200p.p. to 400p.p. from 2026.3.1

In February 2026, we changed the room layout based on feedback from our guests. 80 years since the machiya was built, the building has been renovated to now serve as a guesthouse. We accommodate one group per day to stay in this spacious machiya that feels as if you are living in your own home. There is a coin parking lot within a 3-minute walk, making it convenient for those arriving by car. You will be sure to have a wonderful Kyoto experience.
