We walked in and the Christmas tree lights were on and Christmas music was playing. It was lovely. It's a beautiful home and very cozy. Having a bedroom and full bath downstairs makes a difference for many of us (young and older) who may have trouble navigating the stairs to the second floor. This location is nice and quiet yet close to all the essentials. I spoke with Dottie before our stay and she was very nice, helpful, and informative. Thank you again Dottie! Scott and Wendy’s place was very comfortable and homey. It was super clean and inviting. Although we had our necessary items, they had some available for guests, which was nice because not all places do. We liked the location as it was just a short drive to any place in town we needed to go, and the guest experience/guidebook was really helpful for restaurants and outings since we weren’t familiar with the area. All in all, it was a great experience! Thank you, Scott and Wendy!

My husband and I—and our dog—could not have been happier with our stay at Rice Farm Hideaway. The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and extremely clean. The kitchen was well-appointed, which was great as we cooked Thanksgiving dinner while there. The house is set back far enough from the road (which isn't very busy) to feel very private. Nancy was quick to respond to all inquiries and also very nice! It snowed a bit more than we were expecting, so some of our plans for hiking were reconsidered; however, we did do the beautiful 4-mile Bait Hole Loop, which was one of Nancy's suggestions. Really great place!

Natalia’s place was absolutely beautiful- it was a farm stay with a lot of space to explore. There were chicken everywhere and it was just magical. Our pup had a great time

This is a great little place. It's small, but well laid out, and nicely renovated and furnished inside. The woooden deck out back is a bit rickety, but nothing of concern. Kitchen is very well supplied with better-than-usual pots and pans, etc. A salad spinner, carrot peeler would be nice. Beds are comfortable, and bedding is very nice. Folks with mobility issues should be aware that the stairs to the upstairs bedroom are a bit steep. Backyard is small but fenced and helpful for those that want to let their pet run around, though do note that there are nooks and crannies (e.g. under the back deck) that where they might get into mischief. The neighborhood is nice and friendly, even if some of the nearby houses are a bit run down. (There are lots of beautiful old Victorian houses too. It’s a nice mix.) Just a couple of blocks to the bike trail to Maine campus in Orono though the university-owned woodlands with walking/skiing/mountain bike trails. We would stay again.

Right from the beginning of the booking, the experience was exceptional. Communication was great, house was perfectly set-up, clean and peaceful! All of the amenities, furniture, and furnishings in the home were perfect for a lake house! Little details were thought of by the hosts —even a bouquet of flowers. Highly recommend this space for families who want a peaceful and spread out home for their family but also great spaces to bring everyone together. Truly an exceptional experience in all areas.

Definitely a wonderful place to stay for a family! We had tons of fun playing, cooking, and relaxing. We shared the space with our friends and their kids and this Airbnb was PERFECT for kiddos. Christina graciously left out toys for the littles, which they loved! This is a primary residence, which is different from my previous airbnb status, but the host was upfront about that and the spaces were still clean and welcoming to guests.

Had a great stay at Carols! We loved meeting the horses and Carol’s sweet dog. The home was cozy and perfect for the snowy weekend we stayed. Would love to return!

Ryan’s place was just as advertised. It’s was centrally located within walking distance to stores and restaurants within a quiet neighborhood. The home had all one would need to be comfortable. Additionally there was a nice outdoor fire pit and a hot tub. I would recommend Ryan’s place.

We loved our stay at Jason’s place! We had 10 total people staying for Labor Day weekend - 7 adults, 3 kids and a dog. We all had plenty of room, the house was gorgeous - especially the kitchen and living room! We used the pool, the lake (kayaks and canoes - lots of life jackets to choose from), the basketball court and were so thankful for the option to rent the pontoon boat! My son had a great time fishing. The neighborhood is very quiet. We also had fun checking out nearby antique shops one morning & going into Bangor one evening for dinner. We will be back!

It was the perfect little cozy place to stay while we were snowmobiling. Could not beat the price for the space we had! We will definitely stay again!

This cabin was very well kept, cleaned and comfortable. There were many accommodations there that were helpful for a week long stay. The owners were great to deal with and check in/check out were very smooth. If you’re looking for a place to stay in northern Maine this is it!

Out of all the rentals I have stayed at this one takes the cake. The area is so beautiful and peaceful.....magical! If you love camping and the outdoors don't hesitate to book this cabin. You are right on the lake where you can kayak, canoe, fish, etc. (The only ones on the lake). The view of the mountains are incredible from the lake. If you have a snowmobile or ATV you are in heaven with the cabin right off of the Katahdin Region Multi Use Trail road. Close to hiking at Baxter State Park, exploring on the Golden Road and other hiking trails near the Mt. Katahdin area. This cabin is an outdoor enthusiasts dream. We enjoyed the woodstove at night, the firepit outside, the propane lights and stove were just enough needed to cook and spend quality family time around the table playing games. It was nice to unplug from reality for a few days. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us! We had an amazing time! You had everything we needed in the cabin!

Mark was a great host! He offered to let us check in early, as our flight came in before check in time. The house was quiet and peaceful, perfect vacation house! Our kids loved the easy access to the lake, and the house provided numerous outdoor knick knacks for them to play with. We also enjoyed the relaxing mornings on the hammock. The house is close enough to all necessity’s, but still away enough to not feel crowded with people. We would recommend the place to anyone, and will be returning in the future! Thank you for a great week at the lake!

Brenda's cabins are an excellent option for a visit to the Maine lakes region. We just love the fall colors around the cabins and there are nice trails for walks right on the property. Everything you'd need is right in the cabin and the location is just a 20 minute drive to Dover-Foxcroft and the beautiful Peaks-Kenny State Park and Moosehead Lake is under an hour. A day trip to Acadia is possible too.

Scott has been my favorite AirBnB host I have had! He proactively messaged us, answered all of our questions, and he greeted us upon arrival to explain everything. The stay itself was so comfortable and he has built out a cute walking path and area to enjoy common outdoor spaces. We had a great stay and would recommend to anyone.
