This really is a hidden gem. Tucked in the hills, away from the hustle of Lakeside but close enough to get a quick taxi into town, it's a little oasis of calm. Laxman and his family are fantastic hosts and we were well looked after throughout our stay, so much so we booked another room straight away for the second part of our trip.

I had a loverly, comfortable stay at this airbnb. The room and apartment is of a very high standard. Loverly touches in the room to remind you of the importance of living with meaning. Good location away from all the tourists yet close to a park where the locals do sports. Thumpten was very good to deal with. All my needs were met and he made me breakfast. He also allowed me to keep my bag stored in the apartment.

Clean and comfortable space away from the hustle of the main city street. Host Yi is always available on call. Generally has guests sitting in common spaces to interact with. Amazing location with great views & restuarants. Rooms are neat and basic functional. Is a 1 minute walk from the main road on a rocky patch (difficult with multiple/ inconvenient luggage). Local network was low in general in the area but Wi-Fi at the property was good.

I had an amazing time staying with Milan. Milan really makes sure you become a part of her family. They are warm and generous - happy to chat with you as much or as little as you want. I only stayed a few nights but feel I got to know them really well and hung out with them a lot. For a tourist, it’s a great way to experience Nepal and understand it better than you otherwise would. Milan provides two meals a day; one of these is a delicious dinner that is better than any Nepali food you can find in Pokhara’s restaurants! Milan’s homestay is located in the “real” Pokhara (i.e. where locals actually live), so it is ideal if you want to experience a true flavour of a Nepali city. Having said that, transport links to the more touristy lakeside are good: Milan’s family will always be happy to book you a taxi, you can take a direct bus, or download the excellent Patau app (a sort of Nepali Uber that offers taxis and cheaper scooters) if you have a Nepali SIM card. Milan has a washing machine which guests are free to use. This is ideal if you have a longish stay in Pokhara, or if you are going to/returning from a trek. Reliably hot showers are another bonus. The house itself and the room you will be staying are really nice and comfortable. I would highly recommend Milan’s homestay - I will never forget my time with her and hope to be back soon. I had the most special experience staying with ama and her family. There wasnt a lot to do in the village but the experience of just observing the daily village lives and being integrated as part of their local lives as a traveller makes this experience so memorable. I spent most times sitting in the kitchen watching ama and the sister in law cook up delicious meals from the open fire. Ama always invite me to observe her daily activities, shared her buddhist prayer ritual with me at the stupa and cooked up the most delicous dahl i ever had. Its such a privilege to experience this village life as a travellor and though we cant communicate in english she shared a book about her benefactor laura who was the reason all of this was possible. Rabindra was also super helpful in getting my transport and met me at the pick up point in pokhara. The sunrise views are magical as well, and on some clear days the mountains will also show itself at the backyard. An experience i will never forget!
