Potomac River : séjours à la ferme

Close to Charlottesville, but not in Charlottesville. Just what we wanted. Our miniature dachshund was right at home. Quiet and peaceful.

Sara was an amazing host. Our entire stay she went above and beyond to welcome us, and assure our stay was pleasant. The barn apartment was beautiful. Extremely clean and very homey. We enjoyed the beautiful country scenery and all the local recommendations from restaurants, shopping, and exploring as well as all the amenities the house had to offer. We can’t wait to stay again!

We throughly enjoyed our stay in the Barn Loft. Andrea and Steve are gracious hosts. Prior to our arrival, we received information to prepare for our stay. We received timely communication on the date of our arrival. The property is even better than the pictures display. We truly felt welcome and at home. The furnishings are cozy and the beds are so comfortable. Our family enjoyed meeting the hosts, exploring the property, and the opportunity to rest and to relax in such a beautiful scenic area. We appreciated the fact that our dog could accompany us on this trip. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We look forward to returning.

The cottage is beautiful, tranquil, and very comfortable - a one of a kind place. The history of the cottage is very interesting and was part of our wonderful stay there. We, along with our guests with four legs, relished walking the serene property. David was a great host - very helpful, responsive, and nice to work with. We look forward to returning.

We loved our stay here! Being able to watch the horses in their pastures from our space was incredible! Would definitely stay here again if in the area!

Hidden Gem definitely deserves its name! Beautiful views with things to do in the area. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our weekend getaway!!

We truly enjoyed our weekend at "Idyllic Mountain Home - Dog Friendly/great views"! It was all of that and more! Charlotte provided detailed info on how to run the wood stove (early March can get chilly) and we were warm and cozy on both levels all weekend. Other info about the house was very detailed. Our two corgis loved wandering around the property, which is elevated and very private! We took a hike with them on Saturday off of Skyline Drive, which was only about a half hour away; lovely! Dinner Saturday night was a milestone birthday celebration at The Inn at Little Washington, and it was worth the splurge! There's a small area near the bedroom where we set up the dogs crates and they were very comfy while we were gone. I highly recommend Charlotte's home for a weekend getaway!!

Rich and Brittany were amazing guests! The property is beautiful and served as a great retreat from our busy lifestyle! They were able to accommodate for our large group and we all had an amazing time, feeling right at home. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, this is a great option for people in the DC Area!

This was our fifth stay at Kayla’s carriage house and, as always, it was a five-plus ⭐️ experience! We always look forward to spending time here (whether it’s a trip to just rest and relax or whether it’s a trip where we’re on the go most of the time), and the carriage house never disappoints. It is the calmest, most peaceful environment imaginable, and the stress just seems to melt away the minute we walk in the door. Kayla and Fanny Lynn have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and memorable, and they are incredibly kind and considerate hosts. We absolutely recommend it, and we can’t wait to return!

Overall, I enjoyed the place. The barn was minimalistic and nice for photos. The best part was the waterfront view. The house was very clean and pretty kid friendly (a few high chairs included). The kitchen had the bare minimum to cook and grill with but I wouldn’t say it was fully stocked. I would say in general that we enjoyed our stay. The kayaks were wonderful.

We are absolutely OBSESSED with this place. The silo was everything we imagined and more. The farm animals are literally a few feet away from the front door and gave us a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. From riding several miles of bike trails to fishing and boating in the pond, there was never a bored moment. The owners Ashleigh and Mike were super nice and made us feel right at home. This was definitely one of our top spots we’ve stayed at and can’t wait to return in the future!

Our stay by Sarah was really nice. The loft is beautiful, cozy, very clean and there are all amenities one needs. The place is so quiet and we have really appreciated that during our stay. There were fresh eggs from her chickens and strawberries in the fridge when we arrived, which was really kind from her and our little daughter loved it! I really recommend this accommodation!

The carriage house was absolutely perfect for our two-night getaway and was somehow better than the pictures. Tucked in a quiet alley with amazing tree cover, we felt like we weren’t in a city at all. The interior was spotless and welcoming. We loved the more residential Church Hill neighborhood and wandered over to Libby Hill Park for great views of the city. Would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet refuge while still having access to everything Richmond has to offer. Thank you!

Couldn’t have been nicer! Relaxing and peaceful, beautiful surroundings and super nice hosts! This will be on our list of repeats if we are back to the area!

Went with my friend and we found the place very comfortable. The kitchen is very nicely stocked! We brought food so that we could prepare most meals and the kitchen had more than we could ever need by way of kitchen gear! There was also a full stash of coffee, cream, honey and sugar! The location is great. We went to the White's Ferry Brewery that was just down the street and thoroughly enjoyed it! I would strongly recommend a visit. We also walked around the neighborhood to include down to the Potomac! Very nice! We took a day trip to Harper's Ferry (45-min drive) and of course to the little downtown area of Leesburg (7-min drive)! Rita was super responsive and brough us batteries quickly when requested for the remote and a container of eggs from the chickens! The beds are comfortable. I did sleep on the sleeper sofa and while it isn't a typical bed, it was fairly comfortable. Having the animals just below us was really sweet! Loved them all! Enjoyed our visit very much!

Great host and great property, well located amongst most attractions in the Brandywine Valley. The Carriage house is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable and the gardens offer a quiet setting to enjoy and relax. If you have any questions or need recommendations about what to see or do, Anne and Mark are willing to help. And for dog lovers Winnie and Banjo are delightful. We highly recommend Anne and Mark’s property and look forward to visiting again.

This is the cutest little get away spot ! So peaceful and beautiful! The animals is such a plus there so sweet and kind. We met our host she was so friendly kind and informative about their farm and what they do! I will be back !!!

Joan's home, a former grist mill & town store, is more than just a place to stay--it's an experience that wraps you in comfort & wonder. Every corner tells a story, & every lovingly placed detail invites you deeper into the soulful charm of this magical space. The decor is quirky in the best way--charming nostalgic, & transportive. It feels like getting a warm hug. The sound of the creek, the dance of wildlife, & the peaceful surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for rest, reflection, & reconnection. We truly loved unwinding in the hot tub under the stars-pure magic. The aptly named Honeymoon Suite was a true sanctuary, the perfect ending to each day. Joan's thoughtful, artistic touch is in everything, & her home has a unique spirit you simply won't find anywhere else. Thank you, Joan for sharing your home!!

The barn is beautiful. Situated on a pond, this place is perfect for families or anyone looking for breath of fresh air. The hosts were extremely communicative and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as smooth as possible. There are many areas of the property to explore - fishing in the pond, chickens, fire pit, and hot tub. The barn itself was very clean and had everything we needed. We will be back!

Kelly and Phil’s cottage is a beautiful getaway! They are exceptional hosts providing fresh fruits and pastries each morning and wonderful conversation as you wonder about their farm. This is such a beautiful, serene property with horses, rolling fields and doggies to greet you each time you arrive back to the cottage. The space is so large but has a very quaint, cozy feel especially at sunset and in the evening. The kitchen is well equipped to cook any meal. We look forward to another visit in the future!

The loft has a view of the garden with a black cat 🐈‍⬛️ on the fence. I enjoyed the natural surroundings and listening to the birds singing as the sun came up.

We had a wonderful time at this cozy space. Greatly appreciate all the small details around the home and the breakfast items we found at our arrival. The banana bread baked by Lew was delicious. The 360 view from any vantage point was unbelievable and mixed with the stormy clouds, made the perfect match for our sketching. A beautiful 20-min. drive from Marshall. Our only wish was spending some more time chatting with the hosts.
