The tide is in two thirds of the time, ideal for birdwatchers, paddle boarders etc. The Old Tram road below forms part of the minerals track (with cycle hire) to the north coast. Falmouth with its maritime museum, sandy beaches, scenic river and marine watching trips is nearby. Loe beach watersports centre a short drive. Swimming/SUP from the quay 100m away.

There are lovely walks nearby and you can cycle along the Bissoe Trail from here to the north Cornish coast. Mooringside has a courtyard garden which is a real sun trap.
