It is such a cute house!! Really comfortable beds , great outdoor space to sit, tvs in 3 places which was nice and everything was very modern and cared for!!!

The house was beautiful inside and out. It is a very well maintained home. The house definitely stands out on the street that it's on. The front yard is very well groomed, as well as the backyard, which was also very private and made us feel at home. The home actually gave my wife and me some decoration encouragement for our home. Our host was very responsive to all my questions and made our stay very easy and comfortable. If I had any any suggestions, it would be to have a binder of clear cut rules and instructions for the home and what should be done with the bedding before checkout. I wasn't completely sure if we should have washed the bedding and remade the beds or not. Other than that we could not have been happier with our choice of homes to stay in. Book now, don’t wait! Beautiful home, excellent location, outstanding host. The house was recently updated, clean and has everything that you need for your stay. Location was ideal for exploring Roanoke, short drive to downtown Roanoke, surrounding communities, and trails. The house was on a large lot. We enjoyed sipping wine on the deck watching the resident wildlife (deer, woodchuck & neighbor’s kittens). As far as hosts, Dave is one of the best. Super attentive and quick to respond. 100% recommend this house!

Jim’s farmhouse was a cozy, serene, and luxury home away from home. The property and home were amazing. It was clean and high quality. All of the details you could want thought of. The horses were friendly. I wished I could stay for another week (year?) and just read books from the house on one of the porches or in front of a fireplace or fire pit. Our family will definitely be returning!! Thanks again, Jim! :)

Kelli's place was absolutely perfect for our party of four + dog! We were visiting for a wedding with many events throughout the week, frequently coming & going. Location was very convenient to downtown & just off the main road for us. We particularly appreciated that while the place felt homey, it wasn't overly full of decorations covering every surface, making you feel like your belongings are going to get easily lost. It was well equipped to cook at the place & we wanted for nothing! Kelli was extremely kind & accommodating to our schedule. We would definitely stay here again!

What else can we say about Fotheringay? It has been our "home" for ALL of the Virginia Tech football weekends for the past 3 years. We even made it a point to hold a "family thanksgiving dinner" at the house last Friday before the VT vs. UVA football game. The peaceful setting, and the mountains every, fall have been wonderful! Dabney, the owner, and George the onsite host have been out of this world with communication and generous hosting. George has continued to make small improvements to the house in the form of a firepit, zero gravity chairs for star gazing or taking in the fall colors, an outdoor table near the grill to sit and enjoy lunch on nice days, and some of the most comfortable mattresses and sheets we have ever used. George is easy to find, but he is NEVER intrusive, so respectful of your time and ensuring that you enjoy the time. If you like early American history, stay at Fotheringay, and spend time looking at the items in every room. What you find will amaze!

We highly recommend this place! We especially appreciated the very well-stocked kitchen, the super interesting architecture and interior design, the many comfortable seating options, and the gorgeous natural surroundings.

What an incredibly wonderful stay. Host reached out each day just to see if we needed anything. Dropped off snacks. Gave us local recommendations to eat which we utilized and loved. The place backs up to a forest like privacy backyard. Very clean. And beds super comfortable. Wonderful stay for my daughter and I on a college visit and to play some golf! Can’t wait to come back.

I love the way this building has been re-purposed. The unit was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is really cool and there’s a brewery on the premises. The unit is also well-stocked with coffee, cream and sugar. The only downside is that I prefer to be closer to the interstate when I am traveling because I basically sleep and shower when I stay at AirBNB. Fortunately, it was still daylight when I arrived, so it was relatively easy to see where I was going. I know this isn’t a consideration for everyone.

The AirBnb was great! The sofas were comfy and the bed was perfect. The location is super convenient. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Neil!

I was in town for just one night visiting family and Neil’s place was the perfect stay! The bed was low but very comfortable, and the space was unique but so cozy. It had all of the essentials which made it easy to check in and check out. Will look into staying at West End Flats again for sure!

This was my second stay and it was just as great as the first! The space is super clean, cozy, and feels like a home away from home. The brewery next door is a fun bonus, and the area is very walkable with plenty to explore nearby. Always a great experience—I’ll definitely be back again!

Neil’s place was very clean and affordable, was exactly what we were looking for and Neil communicated efficiently and thoroughly!

The apartment is clean, dark, quiet. The brewery in the building worked well for me. The bed was super comfy and the huge TV made it feel like home.

Amazing and YES, cozy but not small country cottage! Beautiful Natural and well kept outdoors. Many sitting and dinning areas. inside provided tremendous light, many windows, Amazing space and separation of sleeping areas and very private bath. Kitchen perfectly laid out with much space for multiple cooks. Clean, private, quite and indoor bug free environment. Two perfect fire pits; one secluded for privacy and another perfect for gatherings. Perfect ambience. We felt we were home away from home. We had last minute request and Michelle was flexible, accommodating and went beyond host duties to fulfill our unusual needs. We will definitely return for another country cozy get away. Check in/out instructions were clear and minimal. Thank you for an amazing getaway! Look for us to return. We will definitely tell our friends!

Melba's little cabin is amazing. Don't just stay somewhere nice, stay somewhere unique and wonderful! From the custom details in the house to the adorable animals just across the fence (especially the little pig), this cabin was a heartwarming, peaceful experience we'll never forget. Close to great dining, too and of course Smith Mountain Lake. Thank you, Melba and family. We hope to come back.

The cabin is absolutely beautiful & cozy. It's very peaceful. I loved sitting on the porch drinking coffee and listening to the birds. Although we're local, I would love to return for a quick get-a-way and refresh!

Our stay at Finn’s Folly was fantastic, we wish it could have been longer. Kathryn is a great host, even leaving us some fresh eggs to enjoy! We’d gladly stay again.

Beautiful addition to our trip….very clean and perfect for what we wanted

What an amazing place. This is a gem. Tucked in the mountains next to a mountain stream. The location is tranquil, but still close to the main road that will take you to the cute town of Bedford in one direction and is only 5 miles the other direction to the Peaks of Otter and Blue Ridge Parkway. Can't say enough about the cabin and its location. A true 5/5.

Libby and Kerry were great hosts. Very flexible and attentive. They treated us their own guests checking on us often to see if we needed anything. The place is historic and we felt like we were living in the 18s. My kids had som much fun with board games and toys in the cabin. They also liked exploring the big field. Definitely coming back.

My husband and I spent the long weekend at the cabin with our dog to celebrate our anniversary. It was everything we could have asked for! Melissa made the three of us feel very welcome. She went above and beyond to prepare the place for our stay including providing dinner and breakfast for our first night and morning. Our dog had a blast running around the gorgeous 150 acres around the property. We got hit with a rain and wind storm and the cabin lost power. Melissa and Phyllis were quick to respond by turning on the generator to ensure the rest of our stay was comfortable. We will definitely be back!
