10/10 Would highly recommend and stay again. Though it was a little hard to spot from the road we got there after just barely passing it. Everything was even better than described. The restored farmhouse is beautiful! Enough of the original floors and such to feel the history but wonderful modern upgrades and finishes to keep it light and comfy. Loved the history included in the house instruction book. We LOVED the screened back porch and spent the first day out there talking and playing games. Though the outdoor shower was funny and gimmicky, one of our party actually used it and it was quite nice. The views were amazing, the grounds pretty, and the area so peaceful. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed and were wonderfully clean. Everyone had comfortable nights sleep. Excellent home away from home.

My family and I enjoyed our short time at Robins home. The view was stunning. We even had a little snow on our arrival and that made it magical. The house was so clean and the beds were so comfortable. We had everything we needed to make a nice dinner for our family. The outdoor area and fire pit were perfect for a chilly evening. Robin was such a wonderful and welcoming host. We are looking forward to our next visit to Lexington in the near future!

A wonderful stay! If you’re looking for peace and quiet surrounded by natural beauty, this is the place for you! I stayed after a couple of snowstorms and the scenery with the deer and other wildlife was just stunning. Eric and Elise are very friendly and are available without being intrusive. The place was clean and cozy and the bed very comfortable! I was here over a month and it definitely felt like home - especially with the resident (outdoor) kitty who was a wonderful friendly little visitor! Would love to visit again during Spring bloom! My husband and I took our children to the icehouse for spring break. We went to the safari drive thru zoo, visited the natural bridge and spent most of our time at the pond on the property. They loved fishing off the dock of the pond. We brought our own fishing gear but noticed a few poles and tackle box in the closet of the house. The property is gorgeous! We enjoyed walking the property and visited the owners pet peacock, Henry. We plan to stay at the icehouse again!

From the first glimpse of the rolling farm hills and quietly grazing cows we knew we had a good place to get away from our ordinary lives. Brendan met us when we arrived at the quaint location: rambling farm home and adjacent out-buildings close to a lovely stream with weeping willows, wild flowers. Brendan helped us with our luggage and showed us around so we could get the most from our stay. We took walks along the farm roads and enjoyed our time in and out of the house. The outdoor shower was fun and I loved the deep claw foot tub.

The cabin was amazing. Exceptionally clean! It has all the charm and comfort items you would need for a week. The cows are a sweet added bonus. A quiet and peaceful location with spectacular views.

It was a lovely return to Lexington for W&L reunion weekend & it was nice to have this fantastic spot as a home away from home!

Photos do not do this house justice- the view is impeccable, it’s large enough to accommodate many more people than we had in our party, it was immaculate, and it was lovingly stocked. A perfect landing pad for Lexington and the Valley. We’re just sad we only stayed one night! Already considering a return trip.

Nice views, peaceful setting. Plenty of space for a family of 4. Chessie Trail was great for running in the mornings, just a 1/2 mile from the house. We were there for a horse show and did not get to explore the area too much, but certainly seemed like there was plenty of hiking opportunities if we had more time.

Such a beautiful and comfortable home away from home! We loved the convenience to Downtown Lexington, and the home could not have been more perfect! Comfortable, beautifully decorated, and all the extras made it so wonderful. We loved the screened in porch, fire pit, and the views across the street. The host is very responsive and friendly! Highly recommend!!

What an amazing spot!!! The location is one of a kind. It was quiet, felt safe, and is beyond beautiful. My kids wanted to spend all day exploring outdoors and playing in the creek across the street. I spent every morning on the front porch listening to the rushing creek with my coffee - it was incredible. The kitchen is fully stocked, the house is extremely clean and well decorated, and there’s everything you could possibly need. It was one of our favorite family trips. Don’t pass this one up!

We had a wonderful 3 nights at Michael and Brian's Kitchen House Airbnb. The place is just how it looks in the pictures. It's beautifully renovated with a fun design. It's very clean and comfy, too. Especially the king bed was very comfortable (we didn't use the other bed). We used this Airbnb as a base for seeing the area. We highly recommend the Natural Bridge State Park, the Homestead warming pools, and a visit to historic Lexington, VA. We will definitely book this Airbnb in the future if we come back to the area.

We loved staying here. The area is beautiful and the house was perfect for my adult sons with their two toddlers. The kitchen had everything we needed to make yummy meals and everything in the house was clean, comfortable and in good repair. We felt as comfortable as in our own homes. The house is across the street from a farm with cows and horses (which the kids particularly loved) but only about 10 minutes from the interstate. Thank you for sharing your home with us Amanda!! We will stay here again.

Stayed in The Hay Loft with my husband and 3 small children (4,3&1) for 3 weeks while relocating to the area from Texas. We felt right at home and had everything we needed to live a mostly normal life during transition! The home and property are well thought out & are equipped with anything you need. Kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and dishes, plenteous toiletries in the bathroom, towels aplenty, and laundry essentials at your disposal. The host is very responsive, friendly, and helpful when anything out of the ordinary does come up. There can be some road noise at all hours, but it didn’t disrupt any of us ever. Perhaps if you’re a very light sleeper, it might. We would absolutely stay here again and will recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, homey stay in the Lexington area. Takes 5-15 minutes max to drive anywhere in town. And lastly, the sunsets really are beautiful with the hills and mountains on the horizon. Just splendid.

We really enjoyed our stay. The setting is beautiful. Creek is crystal clear and easy to fish or enjoy. The bridge is a concrete bridge and was easy to utilize. The cottage is minutes to downtown. Very convenient to everything including some great parks and walking trails.

Tranquil cottage overlooking a cow pasture, yet convenient to town and under a 10 minute drive to VMI. The home was spotless and the beds were very comfortable! Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Great place and terrific communication

We had a wonderful weekend here. Toria left helpful guidebooks for the area in the home and recommended a delicious bread baker in Raphine. We also went to nearby Wade Mill, a 300 year old working mill that sells flour, honey, biscuits, etc. - highly recommended. When we were checking out, my 9 year old mistakenly locked the door with our belongings inside and Toria came right over to let us back in with a smile, which we were so grateful for. The house has a beautiful view and my kids loved watching the cows and baby calves grazing in the distance. We definitely plan to return!

I have stayed here a couple of times for weekends with my sisters. The view is beautiful! It is quiet and remote and has the most wonderful front porch for sitting and talking and watching the sunset. The sky there is dark and allows for great stargazing, too. The beds are comfy and the living area is perfect for playing games, taking, enjoying the fireplace, reading or taking an afternoon nap. We asked the owner if we could walk in the surrounding pasture and had a wonderful morning walk in nature that included a walk along the creek. It is only about 20 minutes from downtown Staunton where we went to shop, eat, and even went to the Escape Room. So fun! I definitely recommend this gem in the country!

Always a great stay in this house. The peacefulness of the farm is amazing as is the beautiful home.

We are repeat guests at Karen’s cottage and treasure our time spent there each year. The views are priceless! The home is warm and inviting with special touches and treats. A s’mores basket welcomes you on the kitchen counter. It is so clean and has extra pillows, blankets, etc. to make your vacation so enjoyable. The front porch is our favorite spot for morning coffee. We are already looking forward to next year!

We had an amazing stay at Willow Cottage! The cozy home offered breathtaking views of the cattle ranch, making it the perfect getaway. The Brafords were incredibly kind, leaving us a thoughtful handwritten note upon our arrival, which made us feel so welcome. The home and property were absolutely beautiful, and we loved seeing the cattle and some blue jays during our visit. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay in this home and can't wait to come back again!
