I was very disappointed to receive this negative review because none of the issues claimed by the guest were raised with me directly during the two months (September and October) that they were in residence. As far as I was aware the guests seemed to have enjoyed their stay and the reason given for leaving early was that their new-build home was delayed further and they required somewhere to rent for the long term. Only after the guest left in November did she write of these extraordinary claims.
I am sorry that the guest did not appreciate the recently re-decorated kitchen which is fully equipped with a washer/dryer, slim-line dishwasher, freezer, refrigerator, cooker and microwave, cutlery, crockery, cookware and glassware. Also, that she did not appreciate the newly installed shower room.
About security - the windows of the flat are fitted with window locks and the flat has a security alarm system which guests may use.
Parking: Granville Road is a residential road and during the time the guests were in residence one, if not both, of their cars were parked in front of the house or at the very least, opposite the house.
As to the guest locking herself out this was not the first occasion. I assisted the first time it happened but advised the guest to be careful as I may not always be on hand to assist which was the case the time she did it again. The guest's husband has an office in Sevenoaks to where she could have gone and obtained his key.
Regarding the slugs, I was not informed of the matter until after the supposed event nor was I asked to inspect the kitchen therefore it is difficult to comment other than to say there were no slugs present when the guests arrived and there are none now.
The refund the guest claims should have been made refers to a non-refundable rate for a booking she made via my website for extra nights in December and not booked through Airbnb. The guest attempted to involve Airbnb who declined because the matter did not involve Airbnb as the booking was not made through Airbnb. I offered the guest a partial refund but it was declined.
I would like to invite you to see the photographs of both The Residence and The Apartment which are true representations of both flats and on which this guest based her decision to come and stay. Please also read the positive reviews from appreciative guests who have stayed in both properties.
