À propos de ce logement
Hatter's Cottage is on a small-holding right in the heart of the beautiful Dyfi Valley. Close to the beach at Borth and the estuary at Ynyslas where 'Hinterland' was filmed.
There's walking, cycling, fishing, birdwatching too at RSPB Ynyshir - and you can help feed the chickens, ducks and goats.
We're a one mile walk to the nearest local pub, five minutes by car to the sea, with views of the glorious Dyfi valley from the back garden - which transforms into a bluebell wood in Spring.
Hatter's Cottage is part of Goitre Fach a 14 acre small-holding on the edge of Cors Fochno, world famous for its wildlife and nature. We've a small herd of Golden Guernsey goats, chickens, ducks and some resident sheep.
Goitre Fach - little wooded place in English - is just that, with loads of space for kids to play in, make dens and try their luck at catching slow worms and grass snakes. The variety of wildlife is surprising, from pipistrel bats to Tawny owls, Red kite and woodpecker. Look out for the rare rosy marsh moth and equally scarce bog orchids. Amazing nature on your front doorstep.
The cottage itself is a new-build replacement on the site of the original cattle byre. It's clean, warm and modern, but still has character. Space is used as effectively as possible to make your stay comfortable an cosy.
Downstairs is a through lounge, dining area, kitchen, whilst upstairs there are two bedrooms, a large mezzanine with a king size bed and a smaller one with two singles. There is a put u up bed which will fit in either bedroom and a pop-up cot.

ABERYSTWYTH - 9 miles.......MACHYNLLETH - 9 miles
There's an hourly train service to our nearest station at Borth direct from Birmingham. We can pick you up from the station which is only a 7 minute drive from Hatter's Cottage.
North-south buses from Bangor to Cardiff drop off just a mile up the road, and again we're happy to pick up if you let us know when you're arriving. Sadly the 'bike-rack bus' is not longer running - a victim of health and safety!
The main entrance and patio doors open onto a south west facing deck with solid wood garden furniture and there's access to nearby green lane and woodland.

There's usually someone around most of the time, so just ask.
Whether you're looking for somewhere to eat, beachside pub or Tandoori at Borth, some ideas on trips out - to the smallest zoo in Wales which is almost on the doorstep, railway museum or the sunken forest, we can usually point you in the right direction. And we'll tell you the places to avoid as well! We're happy to help you make the most of your holiday...
The price you see on the main page is the price you pay - we have no hidden charges for cleaning etc - and we don't bump up the price of your stay once you book. Many others do.
PEAK SEASON BOOKINGS - July and August - we'd prefer to book out weekly - Saturday to Saturday.
WI-FI, mobile signal and TV - we're in rural Wales and super-fast fibre optics haven't reached us quite yet. There is Wi-fi in the cottage, but it's limited by the three foot wide, 200 year old walls. There is a direct ethernet connection in the sitting room with unlimited internet access. This also serves the TV.
EE mobile signal is fine, but you may have to stand outside to find it! Other service providers - O2 for example - are notoriously poor in rural areas.
Please feel free to phone us to talk through your holiday requirements.
Have a great stay - if there is anything you want to know, just ask.
- check in any time after 2pm
- check out time 11.30 (you can leave bags to pick up later)
The cottage has two bedrooms with a kingsize bed and two singles - two more people can sleep downstairs in the living room on the sofas.

- a stair gate is available
- folding cot too
- no smoking indoors please
- coming in late, step gently
We don't make a cleaning charge as many do - please leave the cottage as you found it. Many thanks

We like meeting new people so there's a warm welcome for you at Hatter's Cottage, a newly completed re-build of an 1840's milliners home and workplace. The cottage is clean, warm and modern and we do all we can to make sure you enjoy your stay. We've lived here, on our 14 acre smallholding for just over 28 years, close enough to 'civilisation' but rural enough to be out in the country.
We're pretty relaxed, if you want to chat and find out a bit about the area we're happy to oblige. If you'd rather keep to yourselves, then that's fine too
