This is a studio apartment with full kitchen, full bath, free wireless Internet, and free laundry. A 40" HD television along with, local network program (ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, and FOX), Netflix and a Blueray player are available for your TV programming. One queen size bed and one queen size futon couch/bed provide sleeping for four. Two additional queen size air mattresses with electric air pump provides floor level sleeping for up to four more.
Relax and reconnect with nature as you experience peace and the sounds of nature by walking the trails on 24 acres of beautiful prairie restoration. Perhaps just sit and listen to the birds and frogs without the sounds or lights of the city. This 30' x 16' apartment is a stand alone unit attached to our garage and adjacent to our home. Great for weekend getaways to escape the hustle of the city and for travelers who are just passing through.
All Springfield, Illinois Abraham Lincoln sites are within an hours drive as well as the state fair grounds in Springfield. Approximately 2 hours north of St. Louis and 3 - 4 hours south of the Chicago metro area near historic Jacksonville, Illinois.

This is a very nice efficiency/studio apartment available for short stays for those who want to get away from city life for a weekend, those who are just traveling through but don't want to stay in a hotel. Families visiting their students at Illinois College or MacMurray College are welcome. There is lots of space for kids to explore or adults to relax with a country walk through native prairie or you can sit by the pond and enjoy the tranquility of the country without the sounds of the city. Listen to the birds, frogs, crickets, and view the evening stars without city lights. Perhaps you will see a herd of deer or two that are very common to this area. A fishing pond is available if you bring the fishing equipment with blue gill and bass fishing. You're welcome to catch and release or catch, clean and serve for your dinner.

We want you to enjoy your stay here. We provide all the bedding, dishes, cookware, silverware, glasses, kitchen towels, bath towels, dish washing detergent, and laundry detergent. Bring your own food. We welcome you to our property and ask in return that you be respectful of private property, enjoy your time in the country and leave the environment as clean as you found it. Well behaved pets are welcome.
Both Kevin and Jaime are college professor at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois. Jaime is a professor of education and Kevin is a professor of economics. Kevin also considers himself an environmentalist and chairs the Environmental Studies program at Illinois College. Although professional, we prefer living in the country where we can enjoy the peace and quiet of country living and the connection with the environment one can only get through living the experience.
