The Place
My home is in a beautiful residential area with tree lined streets and a small park studded with ancient oak trees. The area is relatively flat with some gentle hills that are easy for biking and walking. It is safe and quiet here, and my guests love the convenience of parking in front of the house with easy access to all things wine country.

The first thing you see when approaching the house is the colorful garden leading to the front door. The natural light is beautiful inside. The living and family rooms with cathedral ceilings feature comfortable traditional furnishings and gas fireplaces, ideal for cozying up with a good book no matter the season! At the end of the day, enjoy a quiet night's sleep in your private bedroom with a Stearns & Foster queen bed and luxurious down comforter and linens!

The Location
Located between the Sonoma Plaza and the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, there is plenty to see and do nearby! Get your blood pumping with a morning walk at Maxwell Farms Regional Park or The Path away from traffic. Sip some java at Barking Dog Roasters. Browse the handful of local thrift shops before catching a flick at Sonoma Cinemas next door and getting dinner at El Molino Central , Taqueria La Hacienda, or Sante. Breakfast is great at the Sunflower Cafe Espresso & Wine Bar, Basque Boulangerie Cafe, or Breakaway Cafe just minutes away from the house.

On rare occasions I may not be available but will have a host concierge greet you to get you oriented and check you out. I love exceeding your expectations for hospitality and treating you like family.

My neighborhood is beautifully nestled in The Valley of the Moon near to the Sonoma Mountain Range and only two miles from the famous enough Town Plaza. Inviting tree lined streets invite you to the residential area and a much loved local park studded with ancient California oaks. You will spot my single story home on a corner lot landscaped to reflect my love for gardening. Walk in the front door and enjoy the feeling of spaciousness with cathedral ceilings and the aesthetics of my personal art collection acquired from years of travel around the world. You will wake-up in a beautiful, sunny home that is safe and quiet. Coffee is ready for you to brew and enjoy in a garden fragrant with jasmine, flowers, roses, and lemon trees. I love meeting you when you arrive, getting you oriented, and leaving you with area maps and recommendations for my favorite activities, events and hotspots so you can settle in quickly and live here like a local.

You need a car to get around the wine country. Getting here from the airport requires a car. Taking a taxi is possible but it is an hour+ drive on the meter. Taxis, limo service and drivers are available in the wine country. It is best to make arrangements before you arrive. Let me know your needs and I will make recommendations. Bicycles are readily available for rent. I'll give you the local favorites for biking through the vineyards and enjoying a picnic at a winery when you check in.

If you need a room, last minute or in advance, and you are not sure if I can accept a reservation because my calendar looks booked, please contact me. I may have a last minute opening and be able to accommodate you or give you a referral to other hosts. I will welcome overnight guests upon request if room is available.

Monthly rental is available upon request with the option of just renting a room or whole house. Please ask about rates which include all utilities, internet and TV, gardening, and garbage pick up. I provide maid service twice per month for long term, whole house guests.

I love to share my art collection, my garden, my cooking and food testing for my cookbook, my runs to the farmer's market, and my knowledge of Marin and Sonoma County. As a local, I can help you get the most out of a short visit to the wine country and California. I am a Californian, have lived in Sonoma for the past 18 years, and have explored every nook and cranny of this area and the state. As a former sales and marketing executive with Panasonic, I traveled much of the world for business and pleasure. It is fun sharing my favorite places with you and learning about your travels and interests. It is my joy to tell you all about Sonoma style farm to table cooking and the best of Sonoma.

My home features luxury bath products (bath gels, shampoo and conditioner, body creams, hair spray, tooth paste and brushes, hair dryer, and the safety products recommended by Airbnb: Home First Aid Kit, Emergency Safety Card, Smoke and CO Detector.

I am required to collect a Transient Occupancy Tax, or ‘bed tax', under State Revenue and Taxation Code Section 7280. This tax is levied at a rate of 9% in Sonoma County and is a revenue used by the local government. This is included in my room rate for guests staying less than 30 days. There is no bed tax for long term guests (one month or more).

Farrel is the best host we have ever met! We have a perfect experience here not just because of her beautiful house, very clean and comfortable bedding(feeling at home), greenery garden, the most important thing is Farrel is such a kind and warm hearted lady! Farrell's house locates in a very convenient location and quiet/safe neighborhoods with free parking along the streets. Don't forget to get some good advice from Farrel if you plan to visit the vineries in Sonoma and Napa! She will also give you the best advice for restaurants and shoppings! We just love her so much and we will come back to her house next time!

Farrel's Sonoma home was like an extension of our own home. It is beautiful, comfortable and just the right place to rejuvenate. However, the best part of our experience, apart from the gorgeous Sonoma and Napa Valleys, was getting to know Farrel herself. She is genuinely warm, helpful, knowledgeable and is always there for her guests, without being intrusive. We came to her as guests, but left as friends.

Farrel was a wonderful host. She provided us with great input on restaurants, wineries, and things to do. Her home was wonderful. It was our first experience with Airbnb and she made it a great one. We will definitely use Airbnb again and we also hope to come back to Farrel's home again. What a great experience!

We had an amazing trip to Sonoma/Napa for my 30th birthday with my husband and could not have picked a more welcoming home or host! Farrel was extremely accommodating from the time we booked our trip and throughout our week-long stay. She made fantastic recommendations, including restaurants, wineries to visit, wine experiences and historical sites in Sonoma. The house is lovely - it is very homey, clean and has absolutely everything you need. A highlight was the gorgeous patio and garden! It was also extremely convenience to Sonoma Square, which we frequented throughout the week. We have definite plans to return to Sonoma and would absolutely stay at Farrel's home again!

My husband, 26 year old daughter and I stayed at Farrel's lovely home for four days while we visited the wine country. Our stay at Farrel's beautiful home was fantastic! Everything we could hope for and more. The listing shows exactly what you will get. Beautifully furnished home, very comfortable beds, quality couches, chairs, etc. Everything was very clean and in excellent condition. Farrel was very accommodating to our arrival time and our departure time. She sat down with us and made many helpful suggestions regarding restaurants and places to go. The day after we arrived she checked in with us to make sure that everything was okay and that we did not have any questions or issues. (We didn't.) We stopped at many of her recommendations and every one of them was spot on. All of the amenities (shampoo, conditioner, bath wash, kitchen supplies) were beyond what we would have expected. Farrel's home is in a lovely residential neighborhood very close to the square in Sonoma. What a great place to stay to be in close proximity to Sonoma and Napa Valley. If you plan to visit the wine country here, look no further. It just doesn't get any better than this!

Farrel was very helpful and did everything to make us comfortable during our stay. The house was spacious. The neighborhood was safe and convenient to downtown and the wineries via a short drive. Love, loved, loved the backyard!

Welcome to my home. I have lived in the town of Sonoma for 15 years and find it a happy, relaxed place to have a healthy lifestyle. I was born in Virginia but have lived most of my life in California with a couple of years in Chicago and Washington, DC. I have traveled extensively around the world and love to meet interesting people. My favorite sport is Alpine skiing. I play a little golf, kayak in San Francisco Bay, and enjoy hiking. My alma mater is UC Berkeley and and I did graduate work at George Washington University.

I have been blessed with three wonderful careers, starting as a University department manager, segueing into management and organization development, and spending the last 10 years of my working life as a marketing and sales manager for Panasonic. Now retired, I traded in the urban lifestyle for the convivial lifestyle of the wine country. The simple things - - great food, great wine, great conversation, and great friends new and old - - are the makings of my happy life.

I lean toward classical music and even love the opera, but jazz and popular songs are also music to my ears. In my spare time, I gravitate towards gardening, Alpine skiing, golf, hiking, and writing my first cookbook. Food and wine are front and center stage in my life these days. And I am an avid, independent traveler. My last few trips were to Ireland, Scotland, Egypt, Jordan and Morocco, Australia and France, Argentina and Chile. My favorite island is Tahiti, and my most amazing experience was on a safari in Tanzania. The Greek Islands kept me hopping and delighted with Greek hospitality. The countries of my heart are France, Italy, England and Switzerland. You will typically find me sojourning off the beaten path!

Sonoma is a unique small town, casual and sophisticated in subtle ways, fun to discover and welcoming to visitors. I can help you know where to go, where to eat, and all about our special wineries. I have the local maps for you when you arrive. If you haven't had time to figure out what to do, I can help with last minute planning. Sonoma has spoiled me with handcrafted foods and farm to table cooking. My home is in a very quiet neighborhood on the West side of town near the Sonoma Mission Inn, the gateway to the Sonoma Valley where you will find wineries up Highway 12 and have easy access to everything Sonoma. You will find high thread count cotton sheets, down pillows and a European down comforter on your bed. Your bedroom is cozy and my home is relaxed, comfortable, and conveniently located. It will be my sincere pleasure to make you feel at home here. I look forward to meeting you and hearing about your dreams and adventures!
